View Full Version : Continual disconnection

I've just bought a bluetooth headset (jawbone original) to go with my iphone. No matter what I do the headset disconnects itself shortly after turning it on or making a call, after anywhere between 30secs and 5 minutes. The phone still says its connected to the headset, even after the headset is turned off and any calls come up on the phones display as being transferred to the headset.

I've tried my jawbone bluetooth on other phones without any issue, but similar things seem to happen with other headsets on my phone. I personally think its an issue with my iPhone, but UK O2 are refusing to exhange it, saying they have to send it away for 'repair' which would leave me without a phone for at least 6 weeks.

I know a lot of people have had similar problems but I've not seen any definite answers (tried searching - sorry if its something obvious!)

Thanks,
Jeremy

i also have the first generation jawbone headset, but have not experienced any such problems with it and my iphone. have you tried restoring your iphone yet? perhaps there is something corrupt in the bluetooth files on your iphone and a fresh install of the software could correct it...

Yeah, I've tried both restoring the firmware and restarting the phone to no effect.

Interestingly I have found that if I leave the stopwatch running (so the screen doesn't go off) that the disconnection doesn't happen, which makes me think the phone is turning off the Bluetooth when it powers down.
