So I just went to get rid of a lot of music on my phone to add some new stuff.. And now on the bar graph I have 4.50GB of "Other." So I guess I'm forced to being stuck to do a restore?

No, my phone isn't Jailbreaked or anything like that either.

Try syncing enough music to fill it anyway. The "other" space might shrink as you put media on it. If it doesn't and tells you that you're full, then it's time for a restore.

A restore really isn't that bad. Just sync your phone first to make a backup, then restore from that backup. The whole process takes about 10 minutes max (minus reloading your media, which you don't have right now anyway)

actually, I would restore to a NEW phone as opposed to a back up. Certainly make sure you do this before the new software update. By restoring to a backup, some "leftover" files are still hanging around and have caused problems with the ziphone jailbreak. And if you use windows address book or outlook or a similar program, you won't loose any info.

Normally I would fully agree there, OJ. However, the OP stated they are not jailbroken. So I would say they can safely restore from a backup with little concern for issues. It will be the easiest way to get back up and running with all data for them.

The exact same thing has happened to me, yet about 3 weeks ago. I have about 3.5GB worth of other and I know it is nothing on my phone. It is not jailbroken or anything. I just remember seeing it there and was like wtf?

I haven't tried adding loads of songs to see if it shrinks it, but it will be annoying if I have to do a restore.

EDIT - Heres' the thread I started when it happened http://www.everythingicafe.com/forum/general-discussion/3-56gb-worth-of-other-27437.html

yea I read the post wrong. If you're not jailbreaking, just re-restore. 2nd times a charm!
