Hey, may someone who's using an unlocked iPhone with T-Mobile tell me what their monthly plan is and how much it is costing them?
Thanks.

Check the iphone modifications forum. That's usually where the unlockers and hackers hang out.

Good luck.

As weird as it may sound, I have never been to the mods forum. . .

Its gotten kind of quiet over there the last couple of weeks, or so it seems.

I think the Dev Team has been quiet lately as they wait for the actual release of the iPhone 3G. They probably want to have all their ducks in a row before they unleash any new software for modding the iPhone 3G.

Four replies to this thread (now five) and still no one has told him how much which T-Mobile data plan he needs.

Sorry to the OP as I'm not an unlocker, so I don't know. But as for the topic of the Modding Community being quiet, I'm sure they're loosing quite a few people (including me) to iPhone 3G and the 2.0 software. Jailbreaking, in my eyes, has lost it's appeal.

It just proves how few people read this forum that use an unlocked iphone on T-Mobile.

-All I know is that you unlock it, get a T-mobile simcard, and get a plan
-that you can the unlimited data plan for $5 dollars
-That a plan with everything(well most of) that you could want would cost you $60 dollars

600min-unlimited nites weekends/1000min. . .$40
Unlimited Text. . .$15
Unlimited data. . .$5

=$60 DOLLARS:2cool:
-And ofcourse you can get like unlimited minutes for I think it was $15 dollars more:foot:

i run tmobile on the iphone. my bill used to come out to 75 bucks. i believe the data plan used to be 19.99. but on a recent bill i saw the data plan was 29.99. i only recently saw my base bill up to 80+ bucks. i dont know when that happened since all i worry aout is how much i owe. and since i usually go over then i dont see that my rate increased.

my bill usually comes out to 95 duckets.

You bought the wrong data plan.

You bought the Internet and E-mail plan- for blackberries and various smartphone devices- instead of 4.99 data plan which is all you need along with voice :)

How do you guys like using T-Mobile with the iPhone?

My friend loves it man. I mean where in High School both have jobs so ya kno we dont have money to just throw away hehe...So like with T-mobile we can save about 20-30 dollars off of a normal At&t plan with the voice, and text we want :)
-Plus they work the same as in speed and everything as an iPhone with an At&t sim card. The only thing that I'm gonna need help with from this forum, is how to get the data/Youtube portion of the iPhone working correctly. . .

I have T-Mobile and I love it. Here are some links I posted last year on the issue :)

All about switching to T-Mobile. (Save at least $14 to $34 a month for more minutes.) (http://www.everythingicafe.com/forum/general-discussion/all-about-switching-to-t-mobile-save-at-least-14-to-34-a-month-for-more-minutes-13570.html)

I switched to T-Mobile (no cancellation fee) and now my bill is $39 cheaper a month (http://www.everythingicafe.com/forum/iphone/i-switched-to-t-mobile-no-cancellation-fee-and-now-my-bill-is-39-cheaper-a-month-12564.html)

For the record, I will be switching back at AT&T for the 3G version so I can have 3G coverage. It's been great on T-Mobile, I've loved every minute, but fast interest is just way too tempting.

Awww :( Well thats nice Bro hehe Im just having a hard time finding an iPhone v1 for sale with the skyrocketed price ya kno?
-I mean I understand people selling their iPhones wanna make alittle profit, but it doesnt make since to pay $700 dollars for a scratched up 16giger :( Or $600 dollars for a scratched up 8giger

06-26-2008, 02:20 PM
Thanks guys yeah im getting one and going to have it on T-Mobile for sure now!! So do you guys know why the prices of the v.1 have sky rocketed? You think maybe because of the new 3G having to be activated in the store?

projectdarkside
06-26-2008, 02:30 PM
Not only that of what you said about the iPhone 3G, but because since the iPhone v1 is so easy to unlock and that they're aren't many iPhones in foreign countries ebayers can kinda of "gouge" the price. Cause if your in some random foreign country that isnt on Apples list of 3G enabled "territories" and want an iPhone you dont really have any other choice ofcourse unless you buy a different phone :)

-OG EiC members is this correct? Am on the right track atleast lol!

Not until they figure out how to unlock the new firmware.

Once that happens, you'll be able to use the App Store.

Hard to believe a big town like Louisville wouldn't have 3G when an area like Columbus, GA does.

I mean Louisville has 3G but instead of spreading the 3G coverage in a equal circumference, the coverage is spreading more to the north, towards indiana :(

Btw I have family and friends on the Ft. Benning Army Base their in columbus :)

Cool. You might want to share this article with them especially if they are on at&t.

At&t Installs 3G Wireless (http://www.ledger-enquirer.com/102/story/354375.html)

AT&T's wireless broadband service has entered the fast lane in Columbus, just in time for the debut of a supercharged iPhone.
The company unveiled its 3G, or "third-generation" network, Monday before local community and business leaders gathered at the Columbus Convention & Trade Center on Front Avenue.
The 3G technology, which has been in the Atlanta market about 18 months, allows consumers and businesses to surf the wireless Internet -- and transfer voice, video and data material -- via phone or laptop computer at much higher speeds than the company's typical "Edge" service.
Steve Sitton, AT&T president for the Southeast region, said he believes consumers will warm quickly to 3G's "blazing" download speeds ranging from 700 kilobits to 1.7 megabits per second.
Uplink speeds also will be improved to a range of 500 kilobits to 1.2 megabits, allowing laptop users to transfer large files for home or business.
"We'll have, by all rights, the fastest network in the country, and you'll have it right here in Columbus," said Sitton, who has worked in the wireless industry nearly 30 years. "Right now you've got the newest, greatest thing. No one in the world has any better than Columbus, Georgia."
Columbus is the third city in Georgia to receive 3G. Aside from Atlanta, it also is now available in Athens and will be launched within a month in Savannah.
The rollout in Columbus included upgrading 40 existing cellular sites in recent months. There are plans to add 12 more cell sites in the city, including at Fort Benning, by the end of this year.
The debut of 3G locally comes with Apple preparing to unveil its new iPhone July 11 in the United States. The iPhone 3G is expected to be cheaper and faster than its predecessor, with AT&T subsidizing the cost of each device.
There will be an 8-gigabyte version selling for as low as $199, with 16-gigabyte units fetching $100 more. That compares to $399 for the current version. Those initially sold for $599 -- and even more through resellers -- when they were first released.
AT&T essentially is betting consumers will opt for service contracts that require a two-year agreement to get the lower sales price on the device. It also sees users gobbling up more and more data and pushing revenues higher.
"We're really working on convergence where everything on your computer, your television and your wireless device is going to become pretty interchangeable," Sitton said.
More than 4,000 applications have been developed for the revved-up iPhone and are ready to roll when it launches next month, he said. That includes everything from games and music to business applications.
The 3G's features include sharing live video during a wireless call. There's also access to national audio and video content such as sportscasts and weather radar. Video offerings include clips and broadcasts from CNN, Fox News, ABC Mobile, CBS Mobile, NBC, ESPN, The Weather Channel, MTV, VH1, Comedy Central and HBO Mobile. There's also a NASCAR channel.
Another advantage AT&T has is its network's ability to work well overseas. The company uses a "global system for mobile communications" (GSM) system that is popular around the world, meaning anyone who travels abroad should find service.
Jim Blanchard, retired chairman and CEO of bankholding company Synovus Financial Corp., found that out on a recent trip to China with the Teen Challenge program.
"I just put my iPhone in my pocket and went, dialed my number like I was at home, and I could talk to my children, my office, anybody I wanted to, and it was just incredible," said Blanchard, a member of the AT&T board of directors.
The Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce took an AT&T cell device with it during a recent business recruiting trip to Korea. Chamber President Mike Gaymon said the phone was an essential tool on the visit, which ended with Kia auto supplier DongNam Tech signing an agreement to start up a car-mat manufacturing plant in Columbus, which is to create 350 jobs.
"To be able to get an e-mail all the way in Seoul, Korea, and to be able to send and transport data and information (almost instantly), it's so essential," he said. "It's not a luxury anymore like we used to think. Now it's an absolute necessity in doing economic development. If you don't have it, you just feel like you're walking around with one leg tied behind your back."
Sitton conceded it has taken time to get the equipment and resources in place for the 3G launch in Columbus. AT&T's chief rival, Verizon Wireless, rolled out its own high-speed broadband in Columbus in the fall of 2006.
"We like to think we're last to the dance, but we're going to be best dressed," he said. "We're going to have faster technology, we're going to have better technology. We've got cutting-edge devices that they don't have. We've got exclusivity on the iPhone. Everyone's got iPhone lookalikes, including us. But we've not found anything that matches up."

huh yeah louisville seems like it would be sure to have full 3G coverage. I know here in Albuquerque we do. I was surprised myself when I found that out. Hopefully those who break the firmware will be able to. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
