i have a family plan that i have been on last yr wen i bought my iphone all i had to do was add the data plan nothing else. my ? is this wen i get the iphone 3g do u think i will have to change my voice plan? because honestly i don't care about the 3g part really i just like the newstyle and the gps. so does ne one know if u have to have the 3g part of it wen buying the new phone? also my current data plan is the $20 one and i added unlimited m2m texting for just $5 since everyone i text is att. does ne one know if u can do that with the new iphone?

so far, it seems the extra $10 for 3G is mandatory.

^^ Yeah this also sucks for people who dont have 3G coverage in their area, and will be forced to pay for a service theyre not or cant use :(

How do we know if we will have G3 coverage nothing on AT&T web site about areas of coverage
NEVER MIND THEY DO SHOW THE G3 COVERAGE NOW !

You know how the current iPhone comes with the iPod function? Well the new iPhone is the same. Its comes with that $10 more a month function, lol.

NEVER MIND THEY DO SHOW THE G3 COVERAGE NOW !
Also everyone be aware that 3G coverage is expanding faster the the map is being updated. If you don't think you have coverage because of the map, call your local ATT store to be sure.

My area still doesnt have :(
-But surprisingly their getting closer :) but by that time I could be 6-months to a year into my contract :(

this week in Lubbock where i live i have seen crews working on cell towers three different times im sure they are upgrading them to 3g i sure hope so cuz the only 3g in Lubbock atm is right over the at&t call center and i live on the other side of town

Yes, the extra $10 is mandatory. I don't have 3G coverage either, but it is rumored to be coming here.
