FAN is a Foundation Account Number. It's a discount off the monthly service plan if your employee/school has made any deal with ATT. They've never been allowed on iPhone accounts since Apple received a portion of everyone's monthly bill.

It's also interesting that you can make changes to your account since it's been locked out ever since I've had my iPhone.

So Apple's no longer taking a cut on V1 iphone plans? I knew they weren't for the new one, but this is surprising.

I would have thought the deal with AT&T meant they'd get a cut for the full 5 years.
