Do Not Call for Cell Phones

Just had a panicy call from my wife about an e-mail she just got. The subject was that cell phone companies were going to release cell phone numbers to telemarketers in the next two weeks.

I've heard this line before and verified about a year ago, that VZW was not releasing our phone numbers. Can't say anything about the other carriers.

Has anyone heard anything to corroborate this issue? Not a big deal to register on donotcall.gov (already have done so for landline). It's annoying to have to be deducted plan minutes for unwanted marketing calls. :angry:

This email has been circulating for like a year now. We put our cell phones on the Do Not Call list anyways just in case, but the email is old news, it's been around for awhile so if you haven't gotten any telemarketers calling your cell phone in the last several months I think your OK.

Actually, I've been getting an annoying automated call on my iPhone from a telemarketer. Always the same 702 area code.

Then I would definitely put your cell on Do Not Call list, it will take a few weeks but it should work. Too bad there isn't a way to block certain numbers from calling your phone like you can block certain email addresses.

actually i heard this before from reliable news service somewhere and they said it was legit. but its been a little while since i heard that.

My Business Management teacher read from the newspaper in class, and after she got reading she gave us the number and everyone pulled out their phones are dialed it. Its helpful to put your number down cause, what if you have a pre-paid phone where every second counts, and some telemarketer takes like 2min from your balance!
