upgrading a 1.1.1 unlocked iphone????

Question,

I have a jailbroke iphone form way back when. I have never updated it or did anything else to it. It is running firmware 1.1.1 I would like to be able to get allthe latest iphone updates and then also have it jailbroke. Can I do that? I have been reading up on ziphone but it doesnt say anything about 1.1.1 phones. Anyway, if anyone can help or show me the right way I will really appreciate it.

Yes. Just restore, and jailbreak with your favorite jailbreaking tool. Ziphone works great. :smile:

but when I restore thru itunes wont it lock my phone for having "un official" apple software?

iTunes does not care about anything on the phone, when you restore. That's the purpose of restoring. Simple.

I did it and everything went fine but now I only have 1 gb left with no songs or videos loaded. I dont know what I did wrong. Somehow I lost all my GB's but dont have anything loaded up on it??????

Your saying that you don't have any room on your phone? When the phone is in the Dock what does iTunes say about what's on the phone?

under capacity it says other 5.85 gb Free space 1.35 gb yet when i look under music or videos right under my phone there is nothing listed???

You know what I would do, now that you've got some experience with Ziphone, I would restore as a new phone, and rejailbreak. Since you haven't done too much modding yet. I doubt that what you are seeing is correct, especially if you don't have any media on the phone.

Did you by chance use SwapLibrary?

Restore it, and set it up as a new phone.
