cant install new stocks or weather locations

Hi,
I've searched for a couple of days - can't find the answer. ipod touch at jailbreak 1.1.4 - couple of apps installed ...
The device will not retain any changes to the stock application or the weather application. Once a change is made it will give me the stock or weather information - but if I leave the application and return it defaults back to Cupertino. It seems its not writing the application data changes correctly. Anyone have similar problems or heard of this in older releases ???

Silly question, but after you add you location or info for stocks and weather, are you clicking on the Done button in the upper right?
If you don't it, will not hold your changes.

yes I am clicking done to exit. So to be clear, if I don't leave the application, loading locations and exiting the input area by clicking done, I can flip from page to page and see the weather updates correctly. If I leave the application, and return, cupertino is the first location, it momentarily has a small display at the bottom of the screen that says "updating ...." and my previous locations are gone.
