This is my first post and really my first problem with out phones. We jailbroke her phone a couple months ago ( i have jailbroke my phone and restored it 3 or 4 times with no problems) He phone started acting up like just shutting down and starting back up on it's own. She came to me with the problem and i tried to restore it but it will not register on the computer with itunes. It will charge in a wall socket but won't charge hooked up to any computer ( it's like you aren't plugged in to the computer.) so i cannot restore it. it still comes on but the home button does not work at all. I was hoping to restore it and see what happens and if still problems take it to apple. these problems cannot be the jailbreak can they.......i mean the home button and shutting down and not registering.... any suggestions
thanks for any help

have you tried putting the phone into recovery mode?
-hold down the home button and lock button until it restarts.
-when you see the apple logo reappear, release the lock button (but continue to hold the home buton).
after this, you should get a prompt to hook up to itunes. if itunes still doesn't recognize it, try Ziphone, iDemocracy, or even iBrickr.

Did you try removing and replacing the phone into the dock several times. I had this problem in the past, and found that if you remove and replace the phone several time, that eventually iTunes will recognize it, and you can restore. I know it sound peculiar, but it will work.

I feel for ya dude, each time I hear one of these sad stories gives me one more reason not to jailbreak my iPhone when I get one :(
Thank Acosmichippo and Michael180, their advice is most likely is most likely to help :)
-Of course if it doesnt, then you/ your daughter has to purchase another one
