What is the latest on being able to download ringtones? Wasn't something rumered to on itunes? Is there any way to purchase them with our phone?

someone try myxertones.com i have used the service tons before, its completely free, no hidden fees or subscription anything... you just upload your mp3s and make a ringtone and it txts your phone a web address to go to to download it and apply as a ringtone.. soeone try it i'm dying to know if it will work on an iphone!!!

Nope, at this point we are stuck with the pre-installed ringtones.
