Hey, I am new here so please forgive me if I am breaking any rules posting about this.

I am looking to buy an iPod Touch but I am "financially disabled" so I can not shell out $300 for one from Apple. I have been searching through eBay for a few days now and I have seen many used and new units being sold. What I am wondering about is that many of them are priced very low, between $20 and $70. It really has a "too good to be true" feeling, so I was wondering if anyone here has purchased one of these units and if you were scammed or if everything went fine. I am not too experienced with buying used items online so I am not exactly up to date on internet scams and I want to make sure I am not walking into a trap. Any advice about this would be very helpful, below are some examples of the eBay listings I have come across.

my advice would be to check prices/availability of Refurbished iPods from apple.

if you do end up going with ebay, just make sure to check the feedback of the seller. For something like an ipod, i would personally not buy from anyone with less than a few hundred feedback points, and at least 99% good feedback.

Thanks for the advice, the Apple refurbished units are still a little out of my price range. Perhaps I will just need to wait longer and save more and just go the safe route with a direct purchase from Apple. If anyone has more advice for me, please don't hold back. Thanks again.

I would not take a chance on E bay as you can get riped off easily, just save you're money and wait for the next gen i pod touch to come out, probably in OCT would be my best guess.

ebay's pretty safe if you buy from trusted sellers.

I would just make sure that an Apple warranty is still valid if you purchase on ebay... i don't think they are transferable.

Ebay is a scammers paradise. Be extremely careful especially if it is coming from the far east.

The sites you listed seemed pretty good listings. The reason they are so low is because there is still a lot of time before the auction ends. If you look at the last one you listed, you will see it is up to $275 with 3 hours to go.
It is not unusual to see "bargain" prices until the last few minutes of the auction. Then they start to rocket. By the time you add shipping, you have paid retail or more.
I have made quite a few buys on ebay, but for something like this, I believe I would save a little longer and buy retail.
