Pleaseeeee, I tried everything and Im desperately looking for help!
My iphone wont start and Im trying to restore it. Its in DFU Mode and I do everything that I red on all forums but still, when I Shift+Click on Restore and click on the downloaded firmware, it starts to restore it but then the message appears : " The iphone "iphone" could not be restored. An unknown error occured (-7)"
Previously, other "errors" appeared, for example - error 2003, error 1, but that was when the iphone wasnt in DFU Modu, but in restore/recovery mode... When I found out that I should put my iphone in DFU Mode, and when I discovered how to do it, since then it always brings that same message out - ...error (-7)!!!
Can somebady please tell me what that error (-7) is and what do I do??
Please!

What happens when you don't do the DFU?

You need to remove and replace the phone into the cradle several times. This may sound peculiar but it works. Eventually it will restore.

So, let me get this straight.. It should be in DFU Mode or..??
And how do you meen "put it in the cradle over and over again"? Do you meen I just remove it from the Dock and then put it back and so on...?
When I remove it from the Dock I have to bring it back to DFU Mode again (by holding the buttons) because it doesnt recognize it in DFU Mode again (when I remove it and put it back)??

Put it in the cradle without touching anything, see what it does. If iTunes does not recognize it pull it and out and re-insert until iTunes sees it. If however, it comes up in iTunes leave it alone, if nothing happens try again. I hope I'm making sense. I've encountered this before, and it worked for me

Just one thing until you leave...
In Ziphone, do I click on "Do It all", "Jailbreak" or "jailbreak and activate"?
Thanks Man!!!!!!

Select the "Do it All" option in Ziphone. It should work for you.
Let us know if you have issues with some of the apps not working afterwards. I had an issue with the mail app after I restored my phone last week. It was fixed with a simple command line prompt.
Hope it works for you.

I see your location says Santa Cruz. Hope you're not too close to the fires. It's sad to see such a beautiful area burn.

Did you first restore your phone before running Ziphone? If not, download the 1.1.4 firmware software and restore to it, then run Ziphone. Try restoring to it twice before you run Ziphone.
Also, did you run Ziphone 3.0?
