Hi, why do I need one?

http://gallery.mac.com/jacdem/100125/web/web.jpg

I'm female, but not a girly girl. Girly girls drive me nuts, most of the time. One of my boyfriends once told me I was the only woman he knew who thought like a man and I'm still wondering if it was a compliment or an insult after all these years. I love guys, tall, big and handsome, by the way. I have 2 ex-husbands and I don't want anymore. I have 2 sons, 2 stepsons who think they're going to live here forever, and they probably will... I don't know what I would have done with a girl.

A dog, a cat, a turtle, and other critters. A few mice, not invited, but pretty safe anyway.
I birth' babies, take out uteri and love the sight of blood, according to my 10 year-old. The more exciting it is, the more I like it.
I love science, science-fiction, technology, macs and fast cars.
I love photography!
I used to race motorcycles, but I'll pass now. Don't want to die prematurely anymore.

It's great having you around EIC. We have eerily similar tastes in movies and I just got my first Mac and it definitely won't be the last. I also agree, I'm loving the new avatar.

Great pic, and I ditto the avatar sentiment of the others.
And hey, don't knock the girly-girls. We can share a love of gadgets and cars as well, you know! :p Great reveal.

Great reveal, Geordi! You strike me as an extremely interesting, intelligent, confident woman with a lot to give. And your knack at iPhone photography is truly remarkable.

How about giving us your real name just so I can stop envisioning you with a visor on your eyes, huh? It would help me out a lot...

Doesn't have to be real, just a girl's name. Please! ;)

And, like buffy, I too would have sworn you had penned that poor baby's lips red! You seem so pleased with the results :D

Ok, it's just a pen I have in my hand, not a red marker This is a pic that a patient's husband gave me.
Thanks to everybody for their positive feedbacks.

And I left my first name in my signature now. The one I was given at birth so many (OK, cut out the whining!) years ago.

Yes, everybody calls me Jackie here, often JD for emails and charts, but I always think of myself as Jacqueline ( pronounced Gea KLIN in French, accent on the last syllable)

it's ok Buffy, I still love girly-girls.

although there is nothing wrong with a girl that ain't afraid to get her hands dirty as well.

I love when I take a girl fishing and she can bait her own hook and remove her own fish from the hook.

if geordisjd delivers babies, I'm sure that would be nothing to her.

nice to finally meet you geordisjd. I share your love for motorcycles although my fiance made me sell mine as a condition of marrying me. She didn't want to have our marraige cut short due to a premature death. I told her don't worry, you have bigger things to worry about that could end our marraige if you are marrying me.

but in the end she won and the bike is gone :(

Doctor Jacqueline,

Bonus Dies.

Thank you for removing your distressing avatar.
I am fascinated by your reveal and will comment soon.

I would like to mention that the first thing I noticed in your picture was you have beautiful hands.

The second thing I noticed about your picture was I thought I was having an acid flashback.

A handful of Demerol and a bottle of Lagavulin.

That's Buffalo Bill in Red Dragon I think. Much less interesting than Hannibal. Great, gripping books those are ...

???An acid flashback?? What is that? Remembering those days when you had acid reflux (hopefully treated appropriately by now) ? Or did you dream of somebody like me when you were high on LSD?

I think he's referring to the blurred lines and "dilated" effect to the color tones. From what I've heeeeeeard, they're reminiscent of the visuals one gets on LSD.

OK, thanks, I wouldn't know. I tried to smoke pot twice in med school, and I threw up each time. So I gave up all drug experimentation, except for wine, of course.

You must be allergic or something. Cannabis is an anti-nauseant. Or so I've heard.

After years of abuse I too gave it all up in the late 80's, but wine is on my list of favorites. We brought a boatload of good stuff from California to Colorado when we moved, and we're still enjoying some nice cabs including several cases of Chateau St. Jean Cinq Cepage. MMMMM GOOD! We've recently found a few nice inexpensive cabs that are very nice as well. Wine is yummy.

Good Day Sir

Unfortunately, I really enjoy wine but am fatally allergic to wines. Even white wine.

I work part time at liquor store whose owner was a Sommelier at the Breakers hotel on Palm Beach. If you would like me to, sir, I would be happy to ask him to give you some recommendations for good Cabs.

We have a couple of Chateau Margaux that are $730 and $680 respectfully.
Would you like me to order them for you? :laugh2:

There was a time before the .com crash that I would have given you free reign to do so, but alas, i am on a tighter budget these days :laugh2:

The sommelier at the Little Knell in Aspen has a great sense about paring a wine with a meal without regard to cost; he is just as likely to suggest a $65 bottle that lights up my palette as a Chateau Margaux at $730. And they have both in their cellar. I like that.

Aw, I'm sorry you had to give up your bike, Aggie. I can't say that I blame your future wife, though. Every male in my family has had serious motorcycle accidents. My uncle was hit by a pickup truck...when the driver got out to look for him, he discovered my uncle in the bed of his truck, so mangled that he just drove him straight to the hospital. My father has no sense of taste/smell because of his accident, and will have to be on seizure medication for the rest of his life because of scarring of brain tissue. Funny, I don't mind taking risks with my own life, but I'm pretty protective over my loved ones. Do as I say, not as I do sort of thing.

I had 4 bikes in my life, a HD 250 (a re-badged Italian Aermacchi 250) from '66 to '68, a Norton Commando 850 from '75 to '77, a BMW R100/7 from '78 to 2000 (yep, had it for 22 years!), and a HD Road King from 2000 to 2006. In that time the only accident I had was when I dropped the Norton in a curve. I am wayyyyyyy ahead of the odds. And i drove them a lot, especially the Beemer. LuckyRickyH
