NEED VIDEO CONVERTER FOR iTOUCH?

all of my music videos seem to be in windows format because i use ARES on my PC to download them so what im asking is simple i guess... what video convertor is best to transfer files and make them usable in itunes. i cant get the videos onto the iTouch. some show up in itunes but wont transfer to the touch, im trying to get these things to play in my car when i connect the touch to the alpine but so far its a no go. i have few videos on the touch so far that i recorded using my mac air web-cam but when i connect them to the car i can only hear audio so i am assuming that i need to convert those files as well.
