...have you had to restore your ipod after doing so?

do you have to reinstall the apps afterward, or do they just show up?

if you have to reinstall them, does iTunes remember that you've paid for them?

I've wondered this ever since I payed for Labyrinth.

Or are you talking about something different?

i'm talking about the $20 fee Apple charged early Touch users for Mail, weather, maps, etc...

iTouch remembers that you have payed for the apps and re-installs them once you reset your itouch. i have dont this when my jailbrake went wrong and when i set back to factory and then i Sync'd my itouch the maps and such were there again... apple wont short you on what you have already payed for :D

I purchased it and I restored my touch before I sold it and the apps were gone. Since I was selling it I didn't really care to mess with it, but I would probably have had to email customer service to get a credit.

i think if you change the name of your iTouch it is no-longer recognized from apple as being the same itouch there-for wit will not re-install apps that you have payed for (assuming)

Maybe it is because I didn't sync again after I restored... that would make sense.

Definitely does.

I bought the new iPod Touch, with 1.1.4 already installed.
I jailbroke 1.1.1, then upgraded to 1.1.4 again, and the apps were still there.
