unlocked iphone internet connection

I just bought an unlocked iphone and was wondering how to get internet using wifi.

I have a tmobil sim card but i buy my minutes and I use Netgear at home. don't know if this pertains to anything but please help I really want to use the internet.

Go to your settings>WiFi Slide it to ON. It will bring up some possible connections in your area. Connect! Simple. Might need to know your network SSID if you have a secured wireless network. Have that ready.
