Hay guys I was wondering if anyone knew how to extract the camera roll (the pictures that I have taken with the iphone) to my Mac OS X?

Don't you just sync the phone to your mac? That's the way it works on a pc, and I can't imagine it would be any more complicated than that on the mac.

You can do this thru iphoto. Just connect phone via usb and open iphoto.

I know when I sync nothing from my camera roll gets put onto my PC. But after I connect the phone via USB cable the phone appears in my list of folders in Windows Explorer and I can drag and drop the pics to another folder for archiving. Not sure how this works on a Mac.

Pretty much the same way except you use iphoto on a mac.

Also, after you're done syncing the photos to iPhoto you're given the opportunity to erase the originals from the iPhone or to keep them. Make sure you're don't erase them if you want to keep them in the camera roll on the phone.

Plug it in, and iPhoto automatically opens. Click import, and you're done.

Don't mean to rub it in, but if you have '08 your phone shows up just like in itunes. You can even give the pictures an event name if you want.

Really? There's something new.
As for rubbing it in, please do so. It'll urge me to be the new MacBook sooner.

Yes, iPhoto '08 automatically organizes your photos by event, then you can chose to make them an album or not. It is really nice.

The whole "event" thing confused me so much at first. I was trying to mass-import all of my photos form my external hard drive but it made each photo an event instead of keeping them folder-organized. Took a little while but now I've gotten the hang of it, it's great.

As was mentioned, just plug the iPhone in to your Mac. Just make sure your iPhone is set up to sync photos (do this under the Photos tab in iTunes).
One nice thing you can do is to set up an iPhoto Smart Album in iPhoto for all the photos you took with the iPhone. Go to File > New Smart Album... and set the condition to Camera Model / is / Apple iPhone.
You can then go a step further and set this album to be one of the ones that syncs with your iPhone (also do this under the Photos tab in iTunes). This will clear out your camera roll so iPhoto doesn't have to launch if you haven't taken any new photos.
Cheers,

You can either sync it with iTunes, or plug your iPhone into your Mac, then go to Finder, and look for the iPhones camera as a drive, then do something like import photos into iPhoto.
