Bluetooth Problems

I've had my phone for about 7 months and just tried to use bluetooth on my phone for first time I don't think it's connecting. If anyone can help me out please do. My buddy picked up my phone but then it won't let him connect to me. I know most phones when bluetooth is on the lil sign up top lights up blue mine shows up but isn't lit up. Thanks

The iPhone can ONLY use bluetooth for mono earpiece headsets and car kits.
File or "card" sharing is not available.

File sharing is called Object Exchange in bluetooth or OBEX. It's not supported by the iphone. :(
