Hi guys,
Its my birthday today and my darling hubby got me this wonderful gadget. So far I can't stop playing with it. There is so much to it. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Well it depends what you want to do with it. there is a process called jailbreaking which allows you to add third party applications(programs others made) and lets you customize the way your phone looks. its a very simple process. just ask anyone here and they will help. if you do not want to jailbreak it here are some other tips you might already or not already know. if you are on a website and you want to make it into an icon on the main screen just go to that website, press the + button on the bottom and press add to screen. you can also syncall of your photos on your comp to your phone with itunes. good luck any questions feel free to ask

Welcome to the forums and glad to see you're already enjoying your new iPhone!

When listening to the iPod you can double-click the home button to bring up the iPod controls without having to "slide to unlock" the phone first.

Also, just so you know, there is no picture messaging, copy/paste or flash (yet).

Well there is picture messaging but you will have to jailbreak the phone to have 3rd party apps.

Double clicking on your stock headphones voice receiver will let you skip to the next track without having to get you iphone out of your pocket, one click will pause your music.

Other things the stock (unjailbroken) iPhone doesn't have

SMS forwarding . Instant Messaging • Picture messages (MMS) • Video recording • Direct iTunes Music Store Access (EDGE) • Voice recognition or voice dialing • Wireless Bluetooth Stereo Streaming......

Its still briliant all the same

Are they looking into making the iPhone be able to forward SMS messages etc?

It's hard for us to tell what they're doing. We haven't seen any indication of this in the leaked pics from the firmware that should be released in June.

Even its not part of the stock update the likelyhood is that some 3rd party may offer an SMS application as part of the new App Store. This is my hope anyway.
