I've seen it 5 times with different people.

Once again our tastes coincide. :laugh2:

WoW! 5 times!? Is it really THAT good? My wife wants to see it so I guess we'll watch it soon!

It was quite good, especially if you like the indie feel kinda. It reminded me quite a bit of Garden State, not story-line wise, but the feel that it puts out in the sets they shot it on and such.

I am pretty stoked about it. I have to run to the store to pick a few things up so I'm considering snatching it at midnight form Wal*Mart, that and season 3 of American Dad.

This BluRay copy you buy in stores includes a digital copy for your iPhone!

Did anyone realize that?

So does the regular DVD if you buy the right one.

Kimya Dawson (who did the majority of the soundtrack) is playing at Philly Folk Fest this year... very cool! Got my camping tickets already...

I love this movie. I've been fortunate enough to have a copy that one of my clients gave me (he does the South Philly barbershop with the pirated movie biz on the side thing) for a while now. It's a lot of fun for repeat views. Definitely one to own (legitimately even ;) )

I'll catch this one on cable. I get turned off when actors only have one character in their repertoire.

Is that comment directed towards Michael Cera? If so, I agree.

But he actually has littler screen time than expected in this movie.

i think michael cera is great in this movie and i do like that "character" he always plays.

You nailed it.

I hate when actors get typecast like this, and I don't mean to discredit him as he plays that character well. I just get burned on it pretty quick, much like seeing a TV star in a movie and finding out "he's still playing Chandler, but wheres Ross and Rachel?" so-to-speak.

Look at the kid... that's his character. What's he gonna be, a suave ladies' man? I wouldn't buy that. Typecast actors are only annoying when the character they play sucks... this one rocks!

Thats his only character, which is the root of the problem. Hes the same in every movie and TV show hes been on. What happens when he's not a kid anymore? He becomes a man-child who's uncomfortable in his own skin? I think thats Ben Stillers forte.

Typecast actors are like using system fonts in a paint program, you can always go for a safety and just pick Helvetica.

Exactly! Look at the poor Jerry Macguire kid. He was typecast from the beginning as... uh... someone you never want to see in a movie again.

Drew Barrymore?

I'm sure I could go on, but I don't feel like pulling up IMDB.

those people didn't do anything spectacularly different from their bread-and-butter roles until they were much older.

anyway, there are always exceptions to a rule, and the only one i can think of that is even debatable is Haley Joel Osment.

Dakota Fanning showed her versatility at the age of 7 or 8. She did eveything from "The Cat in the Hat" and "Uptown Girls", to being the only redeeming actress in Spielbergs' "War of the Worlds" and "Hide and Seek". I'm not convinced all child actors are one dimensional like Michael Cera.

but Man On Fire is the best movie ever

oh, i'm serious as a heart attack. Christina Ricci is a personal fave. ask ramesh, he'll tell ya. she was great in Addam's Family, Buffalo 66, Pecker, Pumpkin, Anything Else, Sleepy Hollow. plus, she's, um, not too tough on the peepers - even as Wednesday.
