That is really hot and a large swing. Is there talk of rolling brown/blackouts?

No, but I have my ac set to 80, and it hasn't stopped running in like 3 hours.

AC set to 80!? I'd die. It got up to 87 here today, with then most humidity you can imagine.

It was nice here in Frederick with a high in the 70s. Not warm enough to require AC, but warm enough to bring out Harry's dog fragrance.

It's different here in SoCal. In Florida, we'd have it set to 78-76 in the day, and 72-74 at night. Here, 80-78 in the day, 78-76 at night. Once I started to grill, and people started showing up, I put it at 76, and people were getting cold, so I left it at 77, and it was still chilly. It's amazing how humidity changes things.

In Austin we had almost zero winter this year. They're usually pretty tame, but this year was mildest I've ever seen. And we were hitting the 90s several times in March ...

You're telling me. Humidity can be such a hassle. I love going to Vegas and walking around in the 110 degree heat and not breaking a sweat. I step outside in Florida and INSTANT sweat attack.

The humidity in the south east is just a little more than I can tolerate. We get our own fair share of humidity here in Los Angeles, but I don't ever remember any days that were just HOT and RAINING like we got in Atlanta. I looked up at the sky and said "are you fking serious?"
Florida was nice, but man we got some humidity in Tampa for the week I was there that was a little more than I was used to back home.

Fix your AC yet? It did cool down some this afternoon.

No! They don't make service calls on weekends! Thankfully this afternoon is cooler than yesterday but it is still stifling hot. Bleh. At least I've got the Masters to distract me.

Do you have an emergency box fan or overhead fan, at least? No AC really sucks.

We have the overhead fan going at full potential and a friend brought over an oscillating fan so it's not THAT unbearable. Tonight is going to be bad though because I CANNOT sleep when it's even slightly hot, I have to be pretty cold to get to sleep.

Put an ice pack under your pillow and just keep flipping it all night. :frown:

that's actually an excellent idea. I'll have to remember that when i'm in that situation... which will almost certainly happen at some point.

That is a good idea! I'll definitely be giving it a try tonight. Though it's only 60 right now, but it's still hot inside.
And I laughed loudly when I read that Alexander. :laugh2:
