Help a NEWBIE please

i've been searching the net for the last couple of evenings as i'm trying to do 2 things to my iphone.
1. be able to set my own ringtones
2. play nes games on iphone
i've stumbled across various different guides and tutorials for both and now my head is just a muddle. some guides say you must have this and that and others say its easy.
my iphone is jailbroken running firmware 1.1.4 i have the installer app.
i just need someone to provide me with some straightforward step by step instructions.

Try using the search on this forum and you'll find a bunch of ringtone posts. (That's how I found the NES one) :)
