Streaming video and audio are really easy as long as the file being streamed meets specific criteria: total bit rate, and file type. If you are streaming over EDGE, the bit rate can't exceed 70-80 kbps. Otherwise, the stream will be choppy and stop frequently. Over Wi-Fi, you can have much higher bit rates: I've encoded movies to stream from my iMac at about 140 kbps.

Audio streaming shouldn't be a problem (e.g., podcasts) over EDGE. Again, if the file is compatible with the iPhone (you can check by trying to add it to iTunes and synchronize), it should work.

He was discussing installer which kind of hinted at him being jailbroken.

Look at the pwnage project. They will let you load up a 1.1.4 firmware on your phone that will let you unlock and jailbreak it and create a custom ipsw for your phone. That way if you have to restore again it's already done for you.

What about orb? I've tried it out on my computers and it works great. I don't have an iPhone yet to try it out, but I hear it's supposed to work great. What Orb does, is you install a small program on your computer, register for a free account, and when you visit your homepage and login with your username and password, you can view all your pictures, videos, and music on your computer from any other computer, or mobile phone. Basically, anything with a web browser. I really want to try it on iPhone, but I just have to wait to try it out.

If you have a PC, orb will work fine. However, files can't be encoded in windows media format; rather, you may have to re-encode them to compatible MP4 audio and/or video files. I considered this option - and have used it with my WM devices; but, my Mac is my preferred platform and opted instead for telekinesis.

Here are a couple of links to help:

Good luck.
