View Full Version : Travian: Recruiting members for the NE and SW sectors!
The alliance =EIC= has now been split into 2 seperate divisions =EIC-A= and =EIC-B= and soon to be =EIC-C=.
=EIC-A= is currently full enough but we need new members in =EIC-B= which is the NE sector.
If you sign up to play this game be sure and choose server 1 and choose NorthEast or SouthWest (soon to come). Contact "Vols" for an invite to the NE alliance and "The Apple" for SW alliance (stay tuned for creation date-SW)
Our alliance is one of the fastest growing in the game with 70+ members among thousands and thousands of players worldwide. Please Join Us and represent the EIC to VICTORY!:laugh2:

so what the heck is this "travian"?
so what the heck is this "travian"?
A Massively Multiplayer Online war game. Build up your little town to be a huge empire, join alliances with friends, go to war with other alliances...there's really waaaaay to much to explain.
Go to www.travian.com (http://www.travian.com) and read up a bit.
The best part is? You can play it on your iphone and it plays very well (from what I hear:tounge:)
I originally "found" the alliance, but there are several officers committed to different ranks that work very hard to keep us afloat.
Like I said check it out and if you're interested in joining just post it here or send me a PM. We need members for our other sectors to grow! Come one come all!

You don't have to have a population of 100 if you are a member of these forums. That's a rule we made long ago. Random in game people that approach us requesting an alliance invite must atleast have 100 pop. People with 100+ population are considered active players. If you don't play for over 3 days you get kicked from the alliance but the great thing about it is, is that it moves slow so you don't have to constantly be checking it and doing things, you play at your own pace. Just don't be inactive for over 3 days is all.
MOTD what sector are you in and are you on server 1?
LOL, I need more stats here...I'll PM and see what this is about.
You may just like it! We have a whole other forum set up for our alliance and most of the members are from these forums here!

Great! We need more in the SW! Contact "The Apple" for recruiting information in the SW, he's gonna be the "founder" of that section!:laugh2:
Indy, how do I sign up??
Simply go to www.travian.com (http://www.travian.com) and register, then choose "server 1" and then choose either NE section or SW section, the SE is full of us so we need more in these other to sectors to expand, we'd be very grateful to have you on board. I believe the SW is the section needing more members the most, but it's up to you. I wouldn't pick NW section at all or you will be up there by yourself with no assistance close by.
This game is very addicting and VERY SllooooooWww at first. You have to have extreme patience starting out but the speed of the game pick up when you start closing in on 150-200 population, just haaaang in there. It's easy to get frustrating and quit starting out because it moves so slow but I promise it picks up. Plenty of people in the alliance willing to help out also.

NE- contact "Vols"

All you need to do now is start upgrading your fields and build a few crannies and an embassy.
Send "The Apple" an in-game message for further details.
I'm actually going to send all of you invites to our main alliance and you can split off from there later. Note: You must have an embassy built to level 1 to join the alliance, it doesn't take that long to build an embassy just click on instructions on the left of the page to learn how.
Give me you all's in game names and I'll send the invite.

I didn't know there was an EIC alliance! I'm on server 1, northwest. BUT, I already started an alliance. Is it possible to have an alliance between alliances? LOL! We've got 12 members who are all pretty happy with the way things are going.
If anyone can help us out, we're being attacked by Wintermute. He attacks us about a dozen times a day. It's impossible for us to build our economy to an appreciable level with these attacks. He's got a pretty big army, too. . .

Ok, all invites have been sent out, you all can join the main wing for now and we'll sort you out later, thanks for the participation.
Evil there is a way to make a confederacy between our two alliances to were we all work together, we have confederacies with about 10 other alliances currently one of them being in the top 30 ranked in the game. Ya know, you could convert to the =EIC= alliance and become our main branch in the NW as we have no members there. If you go to your embassy, there is an option at the top to go to a forum that is ONLY for your alliance! Only members of your alliance can see the forum, and only members of your alliance can post there. It's pretty handy.

Well, after several months of playing and being a member of the alliance, and logging on almost daily, sometimes two and three times a day I have been kicked out of the =EIC= alliance for not being active enough. I participated and sent troops and supplies every time they were requested to help other members, and I never allowed anyone to farm me. Yes, there were times when I missed 48 hours of play, but never more than that. The new demands since =EIC= merged with BOW seem to have added a burden that I can't bear.
I'm posting this, not because it is especially important to me, but just so others will know ahead of time that to remain in the alliance you must login several times a day and actively participate 24/7. I have other things in my life that sometimes take me away, so Travian with =EIC= isn't for me.
Hasta la vista, baby. Come farm my village.

Man, I really hate it didnt work out for ya, I'm not sure who kicked you though as several of our officers have the ability to do so but I can find out and get you back in if you'd like.
Like you, I've had trouble finding time to log in, in between the daily hustle and bustle of life in general, hell, if I weren't the founder I prolly would have been kicked by now myself.
I think someone is going through and cleaning house per say, but I don't agree with kicking active players and if you'd like I'll get to the bottom of this and get you an invite back in.
Let me know if your still interested!
I agree that the merger with BOW has upped the responsibilities and may have taken some of the FUN out of it for some original members. These folks take this game VERY seriously eh? I find it hard to keep up with at times but I try and find time to step in and say "hey" everynow and again.

Thanks for the reply Indy. I sent reins to you several times when you were having trouble and I thought I was doing fine. I received an IGM from Skaija several days ago threatening to boot me after I failed to login one day. I replied to him that I was active and never farmed, and was supporting the alliance. i also told him that as an alliance member, I didn't appreciate the threatening IGM. Today I received the following:
Hi!
I regret to inform you that we decided to kick you from alliance.
There is my reasons:
1) yellow. You have turned yellow for a lot of times. And if you get yellow, there is no way how you could be active player and log in at least once a day.
2) growth. You registered account at 03.03. What is you pop? Look at for example severus_snape, who registered a MONTH later and is now 342?
therefore I assume that your strategy is not compatible at moment with Brotherhood. I suggest you to look for another alliance, there are plenty of them and they follow different play styles that might be more compatible with yours.
luck,
skaija
I don't know about turning yellow, but I do know that I was never inactive for more than 48 hours. My pop was 206 and I was at level 7 with my Residence so I could participate in settling in the new POD. Look, apparently the game demands have changed since the BOW merger (they are serious!) and Skaija is cleaning house. I don't want back in because I am not ready to increase my participation to multiple daily logins with sitters and sitting others villages. The demands are such that they would take all the fun out of it.
I just want other prospective members to realize the level of participation necessary before they spend a few months getting their village up and running.
No hard feelings, and thanks again for the reply.

Enjoyed the game much more when it was =EIC=. A friendly group of iPhone users, banding together to play the game. Seemed to work, and we did pretty darn good. But it's now more like being a cog in a wheel, and the iPhone has lost its prominence.
So I guess I am saying the merger did take some of the fun out of it, at least for me. Maybe it's time I gave it up and spent the free time I used on the game here instead (impossible to do both, in my case).

Hey all,
I've not checked here in like forever because, frankly, I've spent too much time on RL stuff and answering IGM's in Travian.
I read that some of you have decided the fun has gone out of things. For that, I'm sorry. For me, the fun is just starting to take hold. Maybe it's because I was going to bed and waking up every day for 30 days to "18 inbound attacks" flashing on my screen. I can see why if you weren't under constant attack the game would be more fun, but when you are, the only thing that MAKES it fun is finding ways to fight back. Growth and the merger made that possible. Pre-merger, I just had to eat the cata's. Post-merger, actually had the ability to defend myself thanks to lots and lots of reins from not just this alliance but others.
Of course, in the past month, the war has gotten closer. Two of our players lost villages to chiefings...no reins got to them in time to help. A few others are under attack as well as I type this.
It's a wargame. I realize some may find being a "cog in a wheel" a drag, but frankly, survival only happens in this game if you band together en masse. Solo play just doesn't cut it.
On a positive note, for those that followed the Pod strategy, take a gander at the more than 100 new players who have sprung up around our position. Farm-central in about 2 weeks. Pod dwellers get a chance to be the "big fish" for awhile.
See you on launch day for 3G and see you in Travian!

I think what people are expressing is the fact that you are no longer "playing a game" when you are instructed to do this and not do that, at least on a large scale. You can program a bot to do that. But for humans there's really no debating that for some that is exactly what takes the fun out of it. IMO, YMMV, etc., etc.
As for me, the fun kinda went bye-bye after the first thinly-veiled accusation of being a spy.

To be clear I made that comment tongue-and-cheek. I would like to think no one actually believed I would turn against my own alliance.
But in any case I'm really sorry to hear your account is gone now, since I am sure Indy would have gotten you reinstated.
And to be clear, my issue is probably about time--or the lack of. I would probably like the game a lot more if I had the time to to really get into it (not that I havn't gotten into it--I have). But it's hard to devote the time this game really needs. Well, "needs" if you want to play it seriously I guess.
As far as new players are concerned, right now is probably not a good time to start out on "server 1" (the server we are on). If you get stuck near players who have been playing for months you will be nothing more than a farm--and that ain't all that fun.
OTOH, if anyone is interested in starting fresh on a new server, a new game is about to begin on server 3:
http://s4.travian.com
Game starts on 5/30/08, but registration is open as of today. I've already registered as Tinman. If enough EIC people join we can have a good start on the new server. And we will have started right at the beginning of the game. (We didn't really get into the game previously until it was well under way.) If you join, please specifiy that you want to join in the Southwest!

And this was a SMALLish one I'm told. And these aren't typos...that's 1.1MILLION Phalanx and 1.8MILLION Praetorian defenders listed there alone. Plus senators and settlers....yes, towards end of game, settlers even get used as defenders as most of the available tiles are all filled.

And everyone is entitled to play/enjoy the game as they see fit. But I doubt you'd see this logging in once/twice per day. In fact, most of the experienced players I've talked to say that the time investment for this game grows exponentially larger in the last 2-3 months of server life, assuming you survive that long.
Not a critique of anyone's playstyle at all...just pointing out a fact. Time investment and dedicated team-based strategies are essential to survival long term, not to mention actually "winning" the server. Of course, unless you play to win, this doesn't really matter.
To be honest...had I known how much time was going to be involved in Travian, I'd likely not have started it. I just recently went to a dual-player account so I'm not only playing half as much as I was, although I'm having to log in twice as much as I used to during that "half" of my shift. I will likely go for a tri-player account before server end if I (we now) survive that long.

OK, Mike. I just registered for the new server as Lord Voldemort. When will we know who all registered so that we can reform EIC. :2cool:

I'm going to make a post today, to see who else might want to join.
Main thing is: make sure you setup your village in the Southwest quadrant.
So much for "giving up" on Travian. I don't think I can make myself give up my server1 account, and here I am starting on another server. :)

Addict!
I blame Indy. I take no personal accountability for my own lack of willpower. It's soooo much more therapeutic to play the victim and blame Indy instead.

Hehehe >=)
The first online game is free...i've got others that would...well prolly ruin life as you once knew it, but i won't add any more damage than what's already been done.
Travian=Online Crack
You SEE!? Tinman replied that he was quiting a page or so back and now a couple days later is talking of joining another server and starting EIC up ALLLLL over again. I think I should get some in game credits or something for all the gold they've sold on account of newcomers!:tounge:

You think that's bad. I've just been promoted from 1.5 villages to 3.5 villages. And, I'm about to start again from scratch.

That bastid!
I don't even wanna add up all of the gold I've purchased to date. Heck, I've purchased it for a village I sit for. That's pathetic.
And here I am looking to begin on a new server! LOL.
BTW: I just thought about it. YOU are about as guilty as Indy here, Mr. Run! ;)

I _DID_ add it all up. I'm over $200 now. And what really sucks is I've used most of it to rebuild crap that was destroyed by cata's. So I can't even claim it was to "better" my rankings. Just to replace them.
Total losses in game thus far have been 685 population. That's a whole village.

A loss of 685 in population ... that really hurts. :frown:
