I have been working on an 800 point essay for my english class (and I'm only a sophomore in high school, not even in honors/ap) all day long. I wrote 5 or 6 pages of the paper in just 3 or 4 hours including all the research and stuff...which takes a lot longer than I thought. I am just glad that it is over, and that my spring break is next week! I'm going to Joshua Tree (desert) with my family for riding quads/motorcycles.

What does a 800 point essay consist of? I have a paper due Thursday but it's rather short so I figure I'll just start on it tomorrow. Mine is on the school voucher programs implemented recently in Pinellas County schools. Yours?

Mine is 10 page analysis of a children's book. Most people in my class chose those 3-year-old books that are 10 pages long and full of pictures. I chose a 200 page book with no pictures lol. The entire thing isnt due until May 27 but we have to turn it in in parts. The first rough draft was due at 10 pm tonight.

Eek, that's pretty unfortunate. At least you're getting a nice head start on it. One of my biggest problems is that I procrastinate so much. Hence the fact that I'm starting on my paper tomorrow. It is quite a bit shorter though, only 3 pages. Still a bit of an annoyance.

Head start? HA! We have had this paper since the very beginning of February lol. The Rough Draft was originally due 3 weeks ago, but 5 days before that she changed it to today. She lets us turn everything in late, except rough/final drafts of papers and i waited till today do do alllll of that lol.

i just took the Mass Comprehensive Assesment Test.

dont complain.

those book analysis papers are a *****, though, i dont know which i would prefer.

We had to write a long composition in 3 hours, and it had to be really good, and it was soooooo obnoxious...

Good for you. This won't be the last paper, so just look at it as good practice for college. Make sure to D/L some Flying Burrito Brothers for your iPhone before you go to Joshua Tree in memory Gram Parsons.

I. Hate. Papers. I would rather complete 10 homework assignments than write a paper. Hats off to all of you.

The problem is that it doesn't get better after you leave college. Assignments and reports change in terms of specific content, but you will always have deadlines to meet, distractions to keep you from budgeting your time such as cats walking on top of you or the computer waiting for food, a dog waiting to go outside and play, or children having to be somewhere at sometime.

Alas.
