What is happening, you have to be more specific. For ex.. When you enter the acct. settings do you get an error message. Is the email just not being pushed, are you receiving emails at all?

How long ago did you set it up? Were you ever able to receive a email almost instantly or without having to actually open the email application? Try sending an email to yourself from another email acct. and wait 5-7 mins. and see if it does not reach you.

Try a reboot, hold the lock and home button for 15 secs. Then try sending yourself an email(really do it this time) and wait 5-7 mins and see if it reaches you. If that does not work(it probably will) then go to settings>mail & delete the acct and re-enter your settings

I've been pretty successful with Yahoo push until today. Nothing whatsoever, including sending messages to myself. I've turned the push feature off and switched back to 15 min auto checking.

Well that is all you can really expect. Push email on the iPhone has and continues to be un-reliable and unproffesional. I am not so sure the exchange effort they plan to implement on v2.0 will be very reliable either. It is a sad low point of the iPhone, escpecialy because Steve Jobs bragged so much about Yahoo offering free push email when he announced the iPhone. Sucks too because I use Yahoo!
You can only take comfort in the fact the email rendering is simply beautiful. You can try setting it to check in 15 min. intervals but that has not produced reliable results for me either. A bummer no doubt. It will work some times, not all the time.

The problems you are experiencing are happening to most of us too, there is no known fix. It will work great for a while then suddenly stop. My solution was to forward my Yahoo mail to a Gmail account and have my iPhone check my Gmail every 15 min.
Hope this helps.

The unreliability of the Yahoo Push email has been evident since iDay. I set up a Yahoo account out of excitement and finally deleted it and resorted to Gmail. I just didn't see any advantage to go with Yahoo.

I hope they will have this solved when the start supported MS Exchange in late June.

Yea, as others have said, yahoo push is sketchy at best. It'll work GREAT for me sometimes, and then it'll SUCK. It's random for me. I'd leave it as push and let it do whatever it does...

i cant forward email to gmail or where ever because i have the personal address package with yahoo and thats were my personal email is sent. so if i was to forward it when i went to reply from my iphone it would be the gmail address not the yahoo personal address email.

I don't think it will help, but it couldn't hurt to try.

does apple and yahoo know of this problem because everyone i have spoken to on the forums and all the other forums ive seen no one can get the yahoo push. now i have another question. what if i setup yahoo as just the pop3 and use the pop settings. will that sync the email like it does now. so when i check a email it shows it checked online as well if i delete or reply to a email from the iphone it will do the same on yahoos servers. so when i log into mail.yahoo.com it shows them already read and replyed to. will pop3 do that??

No. Pop3 doesn't work like IMAP.

That's why we're all so excited about activesync coming in June.

Well it dosent work reliably anyway. It does seem to work most of the time for me. For ex. If I send myself a test message it will get pushed so I'll think its working fine but every so often I'll go to check my mail and a bunch of messages will be downloaded, that let's me know it is not always pushing.

ya it worked for me like two times only and for one email only for each time. i think exchange is the best way but it sucks because i have the personal address package with yahoo. man they need to fix this asap or do something in return.

Well I tested it tonight by sending an email to my Yahoo account. The first two times I had my yahoo account open on my laptop browser and the emails went to my computer browser but not my iphone. I then closed the browser with Yahoo opened on my computer and sent another email to my yahoo email account. this time the message went through instantaneously to my iphone. I've tested it 6 times now and every time the message was pushed instantly to my iPHone.

I've heard all the problems with Yahoo, but tonight it seems to be working perfectly.

You might want to do some experimenting with pop3. You might not be able to get it to be synced perfect with your desktop but maybe by setting it up using pop3 we could actualy receive our emails within 15 mins.

Again tonight I pressed the email app at 12:15am, it downloaded emails that were sent like 4 hrs. ago at 8:30.
