opinions on best pay as you go sim?

hi, i am new here, just got my iPhone 4 days ago already unlocked. have spent every waking minute when not at work on it. as my 3 sim wont work, could anyone advise me on which is the best pay as you go simcard? I still have until November left on my 3 contract, so i am looking for a sim which will offer cheap calls/texts, and most importantly i would like to be able to connect to wireless hotspots for free e.g the cloud? I am in the UK.

also, which networks offer EDGE, and how expensive and reliable is it?
