Dears

I stay in Springfield for a oversea bussiness trip.
I want to bring back home a iphone.

Here comes the problem.

The ATT store dont sell the iphone without the Two years contract.
And i cant find any Iphone store around the Springfield within 100kilometer.

is there any possibility to buy a iphone in springfield in a easy way and the straight way?

Thanks so much for your help.

oh. i'm afraid i don't know any solutions for you then. My suggestion would be to purchase one online. Or if you happen to go through Europe, get one there as they are Unlocked there and it would probably be easier to get one without a contract maybe? I'm not sure. I was already with At&t

Well you are three hours away from any of the Apple stores.

This is probably the closest:

Apple Store - Country Club Plaza
4712 Broadway Street
Kansas City, MO 64112
(816) 960-3700

Good luck.

The other one would be in Tulsa Oklahoma either way its 3 hours away. I grew up in Springfield. Im sure you will enjoy yourself i have family there still and love to go for a visit

I dont think they can make you sign up for a two year contract at the store. The contract is when you activate it on Itunes and that has to be done on YOUR computer.

If they give you any crap tell them that the iPhone is a gift for someone but they have their own AT&T service

BTW if you have a chance go eat at Lamberts Cafe in Ozark,MO( home of the throwed rolls) it will be an experience you wont forget

Off topic, but I find it so cool that I can tap that number and call it.

Is everybody here serious??? Go to the local ATT store. You can buy one there and then you can just unlock it when you get home.

he just stated that they wouldn't let him buy one without the 2 year contract. and he lives overseas... That's not what happened to me. but it must be true for him otherwise he wouldn't have posted at all.

Walk back into the ATT store with a little more confidence and DEMAND an iPhone that you will register at home! Don't be intimidated. Pretend like you are buying a bunch of accessories too, just don't actually ring them up when it comes down to paying for them.

so your suggestion is to FOOL the AT&T employees into selling an iPhone to him... well, i'd call you nuts, but we've seen how competent they are... lol

HAHA...yeah! Did they change how they are selling them now? I got mine on iDay and maybe they changed how to register the phone, but all I did was go home with the package. They asked for a bunch of my info and I literaly laughed at them saying, "So where do I sign the receipt." she asked for my info again and I just looked at her very seriously saying "So where do I sign the receipt?" 10 seconds later I was a signing a receipt.

yeah same here. gave them the cash and then went home. but i think they started doin things differently when people started selling them all on ebay and whatnot...

they may have asked for identification and when finding out that he didn't live in an at&t area refused to sell him one.

The iPhone is not unlocked in Europe. I think the suppliers are changingb tack. Here in Ireland you have to sign up your details (bank) before you leave the the shop. Are they changing the the contract processes?

I was informed that it was law over in Europe that your phones had to be unlocked in order to be sold. Thus you can use them on any carrier...

Thats the way it should be here. with any luck it will be eventually. Also heard that cancellation fees could become a thing of the past or prorated to the term left on your contract
