SO theres no way it can be installed as an application alone, like on a sidekick 3?

Hopefully apple won't be greedy and go with ATT's "use all your SMS messaging so you pay more" strategy

I'd much rather have a speaker I can hear out of and be able to send/receive pictures easily than AIM. Why use aim on a phone when you can just text someone?

Won't AIM or any of the others have the same problem about sending callers to voicemail, since they will be using the EDGE connection?

Because the person you are IM'ing doesn't have to be around their phone AND it's much easier for someone to type than it is to try to use a phone (especially non-iphones) to type AND IM'ing is free.

You might want to give JiveTalk a try that application seems more stable to me and works better in my opinion I like it alot.. many others prefer that over meebo
