Reset your phone and then try to download it again. Once in a while I have problems with dl's but the reset fixes it.

I've tried everything. I reset, restored, and jailbroke a few times. No luck. Without BSD, jailbreak is almost useless. Somebody HAS to know how to fix this. Thanx anyway.

Yes I cleared it. I don't understand what happened. Like I said , without it , jailbreak is useless.

I thought BSD was the first thing installed after a jailbreak. Let me try that.

TMOTD, that didn't work. Still get "package download failed".

try downloading Cydia Packager, (it packages BSD with itself)

Did a search. Found it. I'm downloading it now. It's a process., but I have no choice. Thanx. We'll see if this works.

really? It should be.

hang on, there may be a special source..

add ride4.org/shai.xml to your sources, then download the All Sources package, and go from there.

Already done. I was in the process of installing Shai's app when you replied.

lmao. I was already in the process. Not your fault. If all sources finishes, I should be ok.

This is like another installer. I wonder how much space this took up. Have you ever used it? It still gives me an error in installer when I try to install an app. It says to install bsd or cydia.

11.3 Megs.. and that is truly strange...

restore, and use iPlus. I hear it automatically puts BSD on..

Can't I just uninstall cydia? I FINALLY got my youtube to work and I know I'm going to lose again.

Is BSD Subsystem not installing because theres no room left on the primary partition? Have you used BossTool to move over your fonts/apps and ringtones? That clears up a little over 100 megs, BSD Subsystem needs 6 to download and another 6 to unpack for a total of 12. That could be a problem if you've only got 11.3 megs free.

Installer doesn't error gracefully, so its a guessing game when things don't work out. I reckon you're just out of space.

999, I haven't even thought of that, actually.

what if, suppose, he restored his phone and set it up as new?

wouldn't that clear up some space?

oh and nice catch, by the way.

Hey guys! I got BSD to finally download on my girlfriend's iphone last night. I found out that it was the nullriver source that for some reason or another either went down yesterday or was having hosting issues.

I kept hitting install, then the error came up and then I hit clear que and try again...Sometimes it would download about 40% and then give the message...

Anyhow on the 15th try or so it finally downloaded the whole program. I did this around 8:30PM last night. Perhaps its back up and running normal again. Well hopefully

It will definitely clean up some space, however if the BSD Subsystem isn't the first thing installed after a JB, its likely you'll run into the same problem again.

I ran into this very problem with 1.1.3, drove me crazy too. Installer used to show you how much space you had on your applications partition, so it was a real guessing game until I loaded up BossTool.

I keep BossTool on my iphone now just to check drive space.

It WAS the first thing I tried to install, but like tiguy99, I tried about 10 or 15 times. I finally got it to install through another app. It's fine now. Maybe the source WAS down.

In this case, I would say our sources might have reflected the wrong download url because it was outdated, or the package size changed.

Had this problem as well, took me about 2 hours to figure it out. It was late at night and Installer had auto-refreshed on its own, bam BSD subsystem installed.

Seriously, Installer needs better Error reporting.
