Yeah, Google Reader / feeds would be up there for me. Also Pool, Books, Caissa ...
If I'm bored and on the iPhone I'm either watching wallpapers stream by on iapp a days wallpaper app or I'm on EIC.

if nothing online, then definitely watching a video via iPod.
jailbreaking is cool and all, but don't shortchange the stuff apple gave us from the get-go.

seems like the same things I do. See I just recently went through everything in the jailbreak app list (for my sources) and I think I have everything I want. Now I'm out of new stuff to wow me.

I'm always ready for new stuff - seems like it's got a little quite the last week or two on new apps releases. Maybe a lot of the devs are working away on their App Store stuff ...

Touchpad is excellent. There have been quite a few that I've found either useful or entertaining if I go back a little farther than last couple weeks. Things like TimeCapsule (backup app)m SpringDial for speed dial icons on the Home screen.
Oh, and two pretty recent ones (last week or so) that I'd forgotten about:
Geopedia - generates Wikipedia hits relevant to your location
CubeWorld = pretty awesome panoramic images viewer thingie

it rocks. smoothest running machine i've ever had. I really want to get a nice, big monitor for games and DVDs... maybe once my pocketbook recovers a bit.
how about yours?

Same. So, so glad I got it and switched. XP runs sweet in a VM for the rare occasions I want or need it. Still lots to learn and get used to, but love the stability, speed, and tons of the sick features.

TimeCapsule is great. It's saved me quite a few times where I've accidentally deleted some rather important notes.
By the way, good to hear you're enjoying the Macs. I'll be glad to help out with anything you need assistance with. (I sound like I'm working at the Apple Store again.)

Yeah, I'm very impressed with TimeCapsule too - should make the whole restore and re-jailbreak process much easier as well. I like the way he keeps adding new features and updates so frequently.
New Mac = thanks - enjoying it a ton, and I think I'll probably take you up on that as I find things I need help with

Wow - I'm loving my little 13" MacBook beauty - you have some serious beasts there - good stuff. I'm guessing you use some of that horsepower in your line of work?

yes, i do graphic design on the side, so sometime plug-ins for photoshop, or maya 3D, or final cut studio require some serious horsepower.
And i do some gaming too, oh and quad boot with Leopard, XP, Vista, and Ubuntu:2cool:
the macbook are nice, i purchased my mother one. they get a lot done, i would only suggest something like what i have unless a) you have ubber excess cash or b) will make some money back on your investment

tehehe, i wish, id make more money. The dual monitors are mainly for photoshop and final cut.
for final cut it allows me to use one whole monitor as a viewing station, and the other monitor as the editing screen, this way i can see changes in real time
and for photoshop, the same idea, lets me have the uncompressed image in full view and then editing in another all zoomed in and whatnot to see the changes in real time, or if im doing work with many windows i can stay organized.
after reading your post for a second time i could not stop laughing.....again, lol.

I'm jealous. I work at a studio... I've got 4 cores at home, but we're stuck in powermac G5 land at the studio due to our audio hardware and software. We could trade in, but we're trying to hold out until it's worth it to us. With Pro-Tools HD, most processing is realtime with DSP cards. But there are more and more offline processes that I would just prefer to soar through. It's getting slow though.
Props to your horsepower, sir.

yea, i feel for you, i held out until CS3 came along, since photoshop CS2 ran faster on the PPC architecture then it did on intels using rosetta emulator. i had to save for some time and make some smart moves with my investments before i was able to give apple a small fortune. But i blow through processing and compressing so much faster now, and even faster on my mac network, ill hook up my older g4 laptop and my macbook pro all to a ethernet hub, run qmaster and divvy out the processor task to all computers at once from the mac pro tower. hope your studio makes the switch soon.
Sorry for the TJ OP:tounge:

That's fine when you're alone... I'm talking about stretching the reprise of a song because the drummer was excited... while the client is present. All I can think to say during that lull is "you're spending a lot of money right now cause that guy sucks"

thats why i like working mostly alone, lol. If im editing pics, the client sends them, if im editing or correcting video, the client send them, if im making anything for anyone, the client sends them, i send the proofs, then the final product, they send the rest of my moolaa, lol

Brilliant. Nice system. About the only thing I get to do alone these days is mastering and sometimes mixing.
And dear lord are we OT! I have some repenting to do
