customize is hit and miss. There are many diff fixes for it and some pple report it works perfect while others report it doesn't work at all. I personally havnt found the answer yet. There is a cusomize fix in installer. And there is also atleast two if not three threads dedicated to this spacific subject. Srry I couldnt be of more help.

Taken from a post in the Customize 2.0 Forum:
Mac Version:
If you are having trouble with customize, you may be able to get some useful error messages by running it from the terminal.
1. Install OpenSSH from Ste's repo in Installer.
2. Open the Terminal application on your Mac. It's at /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app
3. Make sure your phone and your Mac are on the same WiFi network.
4. Make note of your phone's IP Address. (Open Settings -> Wifi -> Click arrow button next to Network -> Look at the IP)
5. Log into your phone with this:
Code: ssh root@[ip_address]
You will be asked for your password. Unless you have changed it, it is:
Code: alpine
6. Now you are ready to run Customize with the following commands:
Code: cd /Applications/Customize.app
./Customize
Customize will run, and if things go wrong, it will say something.
Windows Version:
1. Download Putty from http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html (http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html)
2. After you start Putty type in the iPhone/iTouch's Ip address in the "Host Name (or IP Address)" box.
3. (Optional) Save the connection.
4. Click on the "Open" button
5. The connection may fail (if it's the first time running), as SSH times out, that's normal, try again until you get a security warning.
6. Once you get the looooong security warning, click on "yes".
7. Login as "root" (without the quotes of course)
8. Password "alpine"
9. Impersonate user "mobile"
Code: su mobile
10. Run Customize
Code: cd /Applications/Customize.app
./Customize
I used the windows version, and I skipped step 9 because I didn't know what that meant, and it still worked. I think you can also use the codes through the Terminal app in installer. Also, which ever way you do it you only have to do it once (unless you restore and it happens again) and after that you can just tap the customize icon directly.
