my iPhone died.

I was messing with it and it died. truly died, would never boot, not even into DFU..

I tried doing a force on and safe boot, it booted, and I restored it, and then it went to recovery mode again, and then I restored it again, and my computer refused to recognize it after that..

I went to the apple store and they tried it with their MBP, and then couldn't do a restore successfully either (the thing is, there wouldn't be a numerical error either) so they gave me a new one. this is where the crap started happening. before going into the store, I popped in my AT&T Sim so I could try and use it like that, and they tried to make me activate it.. I called AT&T, and told them I activated my old one with the prepaid so they gave me a new sim and I headed for home to "activate" again.

needless to say, I didn't activate..

Any idea what was done to evoke this self imposed bricking?

Oddly I had a dream last night that my iphone got crushed and I had to buy a new one. I had read your post on dual booting before bed, I guess the whole modding thing was still fresh in my mind when the dreams took over.

Sig says he's on T-Mobile, which would call for Hactivation if I'm not mistaken.

Good to hear you got a new one. Do you think all the dual booting killed it?

Well, i dont really know, but i dont think I'm going to try it with the replacement...

simply because the Apple guy kinda frightens me, because i think he suspected i had unlocked mine...

As of now, I have a 1.1.3 OTB, BL: 3.9_MS32, 8GB, on 1.1.3, unlocked on T-Mo..

You know in your heart that the dual boot did the trick. Congrats on the new one. Stay away from that kind of experiment. lol

Please accept my deepest condolences. I hope your life with the new one will be a more enriching and a less tragic one.
