I put a full charge on it around 3pm and turned it off. When I checked it
at 10am the next morning, it was dead. I have tested it that same way for 2 more days and with the same result. I power off the ipod touch each time. Can someone tell me if there could be something draining the battery. It is only 3 months old.

If you have WiFi on and are not connected to WiFi, that can cause a drain as it constantly looks for a WiFi network to connect to. When you know that you will be out of WiFi coverage for a while, turn it off. On an iPhone, the same also applies for Bluetooth and the cell radio - if you can't use either, turn them off.

Even if I power down the ipod completely, it will still drain by trying to find a wifi connection? My iphone doesnt have this problem.

No, not if powered off, heck I don't think it looks after it goes into standby. mine is in standby for days with wifi on and still has a charge.

I wonder what programs run even after the ipod is completely powered down. This only started happening in the last week.

i would think that nothing is running whilst it's powered off....

except whatever chip controls the time....
are you sure it's not being left plugged into a pc overnight with pc off....that will drain the battery.
i don't get the problem myself but if it kept up i'd be taking it back to wherever i got it..or restoring it and sending to apple.

No, if you are powering it completely off, then there should be a VERY tiny drain to keep housekeeping functions running (clock and what not), but no way should it drain overnight.

Keep in mind that I do NOT have an iPod, I have the iPhone, so to the extent they are different, my answers might be wrong.
