So has anyone here been given the touch of god and been selected to be one of the Apple $99 developers? I signed up and haven't heard back from them and would really like to be selected. From what I understand you have to be one of them to test your app out on your phone. Right now I can only test stuff out on the simulator.

What I've heard is that when you pay the $99 fee, you get the feature of transferring them to the iPhone. I still haven't gotten to play around with the SDK - my download the other day failed due to a power failure, and now the download link is broken again.

Any luck yet termleech? I first applied for enrollment last Friday but all I got was a reference id # and a note telling me I would be contacted when they had processed my info. I wonder if they have closed the gates, or whether they're just inundated with applications...

I just got the same email today. Kind of bummed. I really want to get in the program to test apps on my phone. I'm also hoping getting in to the program means the 2.0 firmware early. I'm chomping at the bit to get a hold of that firmware and start testing it.

Apple is apparently turning a lot of requests down. I applied for the $99 deal but got rejected. Here's an article about it:

Thanks for that link dcom, it's reassuring to know that we're not alone in our apparent "rejection" from the $99.00 iPhone Developer Program. I sincerely hope that Apple will very quickly move to clarify what is going on. With 100,000 free SDK downloads, it must mean that a reasonable percentage of these will represent Developers wishing to enroll for the "real" SDK. That's an awful lot of potential discontent at being held at bay and uninformed.

That's great. Now all you have to do is give me the 2.0 beta. :laugh2:

Congrats! I wonder if it had something to do with what you said you wanted to develop and if Apple thinks they'll make $ from you.

If I told you that I'd have to kill you :) Seriously though, a friend of mine and me are developing a sweet piece of software / hardware that is gonna be real nice for people. We are gonna be attempting to make it as cheap as possible as well.

With this program, it looks like an average person with alot of programming experience could stand to make a ton of $ if they make a good and affordable peice of software.
