What does the new sdk mean for the avegage joe user? Also when will we see it on our iphone?
For the average person it means nothing but anticipation that Devs get a kick start for making apps on their phones. Also, SDK means Software Development Kit so it won't be on the iPhone - the apps made with it will be.

You can look for meaningful advantages to the release of the SDK by late June or July. I was more excited about the MS Exchange support than the SDK release anyway.
