I think I am giving up and waiting for SDK. I had no sound after jb last night. I was sooo tired I just restored and decided to start fresh this morning. Everything went great JB in a few seconds. Installed BSD, All sources, the 1.1.4 app fix, then when I went to install summerboard and customize...no sound again. Should I just throw in the towel?? I am tired of restoring!! It is getting very frustrating. I am not seeing too many people here with the no sound problem, what am I doing wrong?

Nope, I have turned the sound on and off several times and still nothing. Checked my settings everything is turned up.

For me this has been the most unstable jb yet. It's easy yes, but has so many issues and problems, youtube isn't loading and ipod wont play songs. I think I am restoring and just waiting. I have never had such difficulty with this before.

no, I tried to put me headphones in the jack and pull it back out a few times but that didn't work. I also tried to see if I could hear anything through the headphones but no sound comes through there either.

When I ran into similar problems in 1.1.3, I found that my solution came from just setting up my iPhone as a "New" profile with iTunes after restoring. I went to the info tab in itunes and checked in all the boxes of data I wanted synced with my phone like contacts and ical. Once that was done, I just renamed the profile to what it was before and haven't run into any problems since then, this includes updating to 1.1.4 and JBing.

I've read a lot of reports that may be related to restoring your user profile after updating, primarily backups that have done a lot of migration from the "root" user to the new "mobile" user. The working profile I have now was created under 1.1.3's "mobile" user and not the previous "root" like on 1.1.2 and lower.

I'm pretty certain that the simple fix to this is merely going into "Settings" then "General" then "Reset" then "Reset All Settings". If this is the same problem that was characteristic of the ZiPhone 1.1.3 jailbreak, it has something to do with BSD and SSH being installed, then doing a system reset one time somewhere along the line (turning the iPhone off then back on), thus losing sound (and also YouTube for some, I've heard).

Performing the above "fix" remedies this situation once and for all, even if further system resets are done. I had this happen on my "ZiPhoneified" 1.1.3. The first time I performed another restore and started over, only to have it happen again. Then I learned of this fix and it's worked fine ever since.

Hope that helps you. Let me know your results.

The actual place is under a category in my Installer.app called iClarified, and it's called Volume Boost 1.1.3

This ONLY resolved my ringtone, Ipod and You Tube sounds. I continued to have an issue with keyboard clicks, email and text message notification sounds. On another site, I found a trick that worked for me and now all is back in order.

Call your cell phone from another number. Let your phone ring (or not ring if your ringtone still isnt working) but DO NOT answer it. Then hang up, and do not touch your iPhone until after it goes to sleep. When I woke my iPhone up from sleep, I heard the click again finally after moving the sliding bar and ALL of my sounds were restored.

I am running 1.1.4 jailbreak via ZiPhone and am loving it!
