1.1.4 with all my apps back!

I just want everyone to know if your holding back because of incompatible apps you don't have to wait. I restored to 1.1.4, jb using ziphone, downloaded the 1.1.4 apps patch, downloaded all my old apps including categories, customize, summerboard, banner, mim, NES, classic with NES games.... and haven't had any problems at all. I'm now ready fro SDK baby!!!!

P.S. i had 358.8 of other used up before i updated now 310.3 with the same apps and themes....

What exactly does banner do? Can you set it to scroll instead of the screen blacking out?

I'd warn everyone to use that patch at your own risk. If it works like I think it does, then it may have the potential to make things a little confusing later on when the real 1.1.4 updates are released.

I appriciate the heads up. I've ben looking to update and jailbreak this weekend.

my iPhone still has x666x's cookie. I may leave it as a cool way to differentiate between desktop and iPhone posts.

how did you get customize to work? i'm like still hesitant on updating because i dont want to lose my ringtones and i just want to delete that "stocks" icon.. i dont need it.

i looked through installer but i couldnt find it anywhere. i can get everything else but springboard and the apps associated with spring board to work. it keeps telling me its only supported by 1.1.3
It was just recently ( yesterday ) that i was able to install the BSD subsytem. it previously wouldnt let me.

To get custimize to work just hop on cyberduck or fugu and set permissions for custimize to 775 then it works fine. and yes i downloaded the 1.1.4 app patch to download the apps if you put in ride4.org/shai.xml as a sorces then download the "all source" app you'll get like 94 apps it will be there then.

I'm asking u this question because you have helped me before and I trust your judgement. Is it really safe to jailbreak 1.1.4 using Ziphone. I've used it before with no problems, but I am not sure about apps that are compatible. Honestly, what do u think?

I just jailbroke it today. I tried to install the 1.1.4 apps patch and it wont let me until I installed the bsd subsystem. I went to install the bsd subsystem and it wont let me go through with it. HELP!:angry:

sorry to hijack, but ive been on firmware 1.1.1/ jailbreak, and i just updated my firmware to 1.1.4, what do they mean by restore to 1.1.4?? because the only thing i did was update from 1.1.1 to 1.1.4 from itunes... directions “restore and update”.... what if i updated to 1.1.4 and i didnt restore before?? i just want to make sure i do the right thing before something goes wrong.... will restore delete my mp3's?

ok when you go to install bsd subsystem make sure you "clear the quoed" before you try and install. then hit install again and you should have no problems. otherwise installer is still going to try and download what's in the quoed first. that's why you still get the same error.
