Hey everyone I recently started having a problem with my yahoo account not alerting me of new mail. I am still running firmware 1.02 and I can't seem to fix this. I have searched through many threads on this and I dont have away to check for manual check or Push on/off. This is my menu:
My options show up as this:

Accounts
mangook@yahoo.com (hydro94530@yahoo.com)
Add Account...

Messages
Show 50 Recent Messages
Preview None
Minimum Font Size Small
Show To/Cc Label ON
Ask Before Deleting OFF

Sending
Always Bcc Myself OFF
Signature Sent from my iPhone
Default Account mangook@...

Any help would be great. I tried calling yahoo and Apple and they both blame each other.

Thanks again,
Chris

I am having the same problem. I was going to post this exact question. I am running 1.1.1 (I think). I noticed this a few days ago. Any suggestions? I have tried resetting my phone, deleting and then adding the account and nothing seems to work.

I have done the exact same thing. I have deleted the account and then added it again. I also did the reset by hitting the home key and the power button. Still no luck. It sucks and I don't know what else to do.

Yahoo push sucks. I gave up on it :frown:

Sorry I am not helpful. I had it on every firmware except the first one. It never worked properly. I just wanted to vent about it a little bit again.

It has worked for me from the day I bought my iphone back in Sept. I dont know what has changed. I also have done the reset by holding the home key and power button.

It worked for me as well up until a few days ago. When I called Apple tech support the woman that was helping me tried sending an e-mail to her phone and she said the push wasn't working for her either. It sucks!

I should be more specific. I have yahoo bizmail (name@mydomain.com) and push is not supported. Whenever I set up the POP account it freezes and screws up my yahoo bizmail on my computer. Then it is hard to work all day until yahoo fixes it. This has happended 3 times (maybe 4).

Sorry to hijack thread.

so I wonder if its an apple thing or yahoo thing? Has yahoo changed anything to their mail the past couple of days? I find it hard to believe it would be something AT&T has done to their service as everything else works just fine (sms, safari, etc).

Honestly I called both Yahoo and Apple and they both blamed the other party so pretty much it sucks.

That sucks. I feel for you. I am at work alot, so I just deleted my yahoo from the iphone. Figured I do not really need it on the iphone.

My personal email is gmail IMAP. It works perfectly.

It just sucks I have to search for it instead of getting it instantly. People will send me messaged in my e-mail sometimes at work which I wish I could see right away. I added another Yahoo account to the phone that i just created and it works on the push but I don't want to tell everyone i changed my e-mail. I would like the same e-mail address or atleast be able to forward the mangook@yahoo.com to the new e-mail address i just set up. I am working on the free accounts though so I don't think it is possible.

well atleast we know it's not a problem that we are causing. Hopefully yahoo will figure something out in the coming days.

it sends your email to your phone right away, instead of checking for it every 15 minutes. highly recommended (when it works anyway)

Do you get your email instantly on your gmail or do you have to check for it manually? Many claim that they get emails instantly on their Gmail IMAP account and it hasn't worked for me at all.

The Apple support forums have a lot of users in the same boat... I also noticed that Yahoo push wasn't working as of this past weekend and it appears to be a Yahoo thing. It doesn't seem to matter what version of the firmware the iPhone is on, Yahoo push isn't working. Apple is aware of it and has apparently promised to escalate the issue with Yahoo, since it is one of Apple's selling points for the iPhone.

Damn I wish there was a fix for this already.
