Check your phone bill! I got scammed, you may be getting scammed too!

Got a bill of $9.99 per month from New Motion Inc automatically charged to my AtandT bill for "bid4Prizes". Called ATand T and it is a scam. She said hundreds of people have had the problem and some customers have been charged up to $150 per month!

Apparently the scammers expect people to not look at their bill and keep paying it.

I have never purchased anything at all via the internet from my phone so somehow they must have a text message based scam or something. It is on the last page of the atandt bill and says "bid4prizes".

How do we report this so these scammers must stop?

No I never signed up for anything either online or on my phone. I did get a few text msgs however which I deleted. But you have to open it to see what it is because it just shows the SMS green box and the number 1 when a text msg is waiting for you. It had to come from one of these scam text msgs.

Back in August I had a charge for $9.99 for this bid4prizes. The lady at AT&T gave me a hard time saying I must have signed up for it but she finally gave me the credit. I had to send some txt message to cancel and it never happened again. But I recently saw it pop up again but nothing happened this time.

I think I've seen that too. I hope they lock up those dirtbags.

This happened to me some time back with a different phone. It had to do with ringtones. Some kind of monthly club. All I did was visit the web site and next thing I know I have a $9.99 charge on my bill. Called ATT and they removed it.
