I bought Showtime because its the only thing available. Plus Layton is hosting some of the Installer server load on his Polarbear servers so he could use some help. I also donated to DrunknBass in the hopes he'd finally release *something* lol.
Showtime is pretty cool, beats having nothing ;)

I was using the pirated ShowTime from BigBoss (shame, shame) until I had to re-jailbreak and it was removed from the BigBoss source. I know use the legit version. However, the framerate is way too low and the lack of audio keeps me form donating.

I've been asked by Layton not to divulge any details regarding Showtime's future, so let's just say everything you dislike about it will be fixed. I'm very excited for the next release, it will be the robust video recording application we expected.

I hope it comes quite soon, otherwise I won't be using it. (I'll be restoring come the SDK.)

I'm using Summerboard and not having any issues playing back within ShowTime. However, I am seeing an issue with playing the longer .mov files on QuickTime. So far, 3 files of the short, 5-second variety copied over to the PC play fine in QuickTime. 3 files around the 20-second mark and around 40-75mb in size, refuse to play. I get the error in the attached screencap ...

Please send your issues to layton@polarbearfarm.com.
I just spoke with him regarding the playback issue and he is now working on a fix as this was his second time hearing there was a problem.
In the meantime if you do experience playback issues, launch SMB prefs and turn off your wallpaper when you wish to watch the playback.

Holiday is good. And yes, trading emails with him on this, and sharing a sample .mov file now in fact. He is very responsive and helpful. May be an issue with my QuickTime setup or ...

Glad to hear you're making progress with this small hiccup. I've got access to a mac and pc tomorrow, I'll do what I can to help get this squashed.
Oof my feet hurt. Took us 2 hours to get on the new Nemo ride :( California Adventure tomorrow, and this time with shareable video recording thanks to the new Showtime update! Well, assuming this large mov quirk is an isolated case :p
Oh yeah, did you notice on the app's site that its mentioned an encoder for previously recorded videos is in the works? :D I believe all the beans have been spilt on that page. There's one tiny detail missing, but that may be because its part if the encoder that's being worked on.

Disneyland?
Shareable video is cool.
Large mov issue and isolated case - may well be, as Layton says he can't reproduce it so far - so have shared a .mov file with him now.
I didn't notice the encoder mention - will have another look in a bit.

I can record and view the video without problem on the iPhone - no background issues.
I can transfer them to the Mac and watch them. However, the color is distorted. In the video I took of my desk, which is brown, the desk was blue.

Slide your finger from left to right over the saved video titles in Showtime to delete them.

Launch Mobile Finder on your iPhone and browse to:
/var/Library/Preferences
and find: com.polarbearfarm.showtime.plist
Tap the modify button in Finder and check to make sure all the permissions check boxes are checked in (777).
You may also want to contact the author and let him know this problem happened to you, because it shouldn't ne working this way.
@Scottshotz,
There is currently no sound, although it is mentioned as a future feature to be added.

This might well not be your issue, but just in case - you need to hit the Return key once you have entered all the license key characters - it doesn't prompt you to do so, but that should make it stick ...

The only thing the donation does in unlock the time limit. Audio is but a feature yet to come.

I can see the potential in this app but 6 fps is way to low for me to donate. I'd rather have at least 15fps with no sound than 6fps with sound.

EDIT
Here's the Link for the Mac Color Converter (http://www.polarbearfarm.com/ShowTimeCC.zip)
Layton is updating his site and will post the link above there as well.
/EDIT
I was able to reproduce this issue and sent a screenshot to the author. I got a prompt reply back along with a link to a color converter for Mac which will fix the colors on your recorded files. It works perfectly and apparently addresses a known color difference between the two platforms.
I've replied to Layton asking if Showtime will be updated to address this issue, or if the Color Converter will go public. I'll keep you posted, but I just did quick refresh on his site and theres no update to his changelog yet.
