Hello everybody, I am writing to you from a computer at the 5th ave store and was just witness to CNN interviewing Greg Packer and the other 7 or so people already in line. The interview was pretty long and will certainly be scaled down but it should be good tv. I will say, this Greg Packard guy is funny as ****.....Anyways its pretty crazy down here right now ALOT of media and people stopping not to mention there is a concert going on next store....I managed to take about 15-25 pics on my POS verizon camera phone but they should be decent. I will upload the pics later when I get home and provide more details.

BTW, the news clip should air on CNN sometime later today or tonight.

Just becuase hes fat, sweaty and he is just absolutely obsessed with being the first in line. I think when you see the interview you will agree.....

So I wonder if sitting out there for 48 hours was worth it being 1st instead of 6th.

LOL.

LOL.

Just look at all the publicity the guy is getting. He may even get his own sitcom called "The Misadventures of Sweaty McTouchscreen".

Naw, it'd be a Reality TV show. 20 people are waiting in line for some unknown thing. In every Episode Greg Packard instigates a new obstacle they must overcome.

In every episode someone gives up and leaves the line. Last person still in lines wins the Million bucks!

Episode 1. Pigeons, like hundreds of them pooping all over everything.
Episode 2. Boring pedestrians that stop and want to talk with you
Episode 3. Rain.. No... Huricane, Yeah!
Episode 4. Challange Episode, win the challenega dn get a shower as a reward!
Episode 5. Series is Cancelled.

Great name! Not exactly Sledge Riprock or Johnny Longtorso, but great nonetheless! :)

It's a good thing Saturday Night Live is finished for the season. They'd be crucifying this guy. I'll be David Letterman has some fun with him too.

The women in the green chair with her back turned to me was the CNN reporter. The hispanic woman in front of her is one of the campers being interviewed.

I don't care how much media attention Sweaty gets -- this ain't gonna get him a girlfriend.

Greg Packer is a true peice of crap. He is a professional line waiter and self promoter. His only agenda is to get interviewed and seek media attention. He obviously has no interest in the products he waits for or the events he attends. He really seems to conduct himself like a total jerk.

Why do you care??? You have never met him you dont know how he conducts himself. I dont feel the need to defend him but why does it bother you if this guy enjoys being a professional line waiter and giving interviews???? Why does this bother you and how does it hurt your wellbeing?

i just saw the interview on cnn, it was at the end of the situation room

Yes I have met him, at the ribbon cutting of the Ground Zero viewing area. I was part of the fire department honor guard that had been invited from around the nation. He was first in line, and couldn't have cared less about the cause. He acted like a complete jerk. I don't have to defend my opinion, but how does me voicing my opinion of him effect YOUR wellbeing? It doesn't, so if you don't like my opinion move along. Meet someone before you defend them...

Well after hearing that I take back my statement about you. I was aware of his presences at the Ground Zero viewing area but I didnt know he was a jerk...additionally I assume you are a Firefighter and I solute you for that if that is true....I care as much or more about Ground Zero as anyone here.

That said, I spent about 30 min at the 5th ave store with him today and he did not give me the bad impression you got from him. It is no secret he desperately seeks media attention; i will not dispute this, BUT he was very polite with everyone who came up to him positive or negative and believe me, there were some guys comming up to him during the cnn interview talking some SERIOUS crap to his face and he didn't seem affected, I have to give him that..

To each his own.

I just got a little irritated when I saw him getting media attention again... Oh well, he is going to do what he does no matter what anyone thinks or says. Me getting emotional about it just fuels him... So are you camping out in front of the 5th Ave. Store? That looks like it might be a mad house... Good luck with all of that...
