Has anybody tried the new ZiPhone jailbreak and can they confirm it works with no problems?
Also, can they post a tutorial and a link to the download.
Also, if there any other EASY jailbreak solutions that are confirmed that work for v1.1.3 iPhone, that would also be appreciated.
Thank you.

Lots of folks here have tried it, most with great success it sounds like. And there is a very good guide - at:

Most everybody has reported it to work. I used to first method from the Dev Team (downgrading and such), and I would restore and try this method but I'd prefer to not have to re-do my mods.

Hmm.... Of course I'm nervous about bricking my phone. I might try it later tonight, but is there anyone else with first-hand experience about the jailbreak working?

ZiPhone is the second-easiest jailbreak there is; there's basically zero risk of bricking. If something does go wrong, you can restore in iTunes. The method is one-click.

Got an error message that says the iPhone cannot be restored - error 1602.
Any ideas?

Just try it. As long as you're an AT&T customer, you will be fine.

i'm a total jailbreak n00b and i did it with no problems. did it twice, in fact. restored to 1.1.3 in between and all went well.
i'd recommend. this is the jailbreak i was waiting for - no downgrading. just jailbreak 1.1.3 - no problems.

Everything is working fine as far as I can see. I activated Wifi, but I can't get my email from work because of my signal here in the house, but that was expected. Everything else is working fine so far. I am having a memory lapse as to what to load where it lets your choose 1, 2, 3 4, etc icons to show instead of all of them.
Persuader, go ahead and jailbreak man. The longest that it takes is the restore and then just follow the pics/instructions. Let me know how it turns out.

I am probably going to do it tomorrow after school. It's getting late and I'll never have enough time to load all my music back on.
But glad to know it works fine.
Thanks a lot .

as long as you just jailbreak and don't unlock, google maps' "locate me" should work just fine. mine does.
as for apps to try, well it's been kinda hit and miss for me. there are problems with many of the apps, so it's kind of a crap shoot. i like summerboard and customize looks cool, but i'm having problems with it. and although the NES thing isn't really usable, it's neat to see nintendo games on your phone!

Ok, I did it. But, how long does it take for the AT&T service to show up?
woohoo! has the phone rebooted? or rather, gone into normal mode where you're on the springboard? it should show up right away once your phone gets to the springboard.

summerboard works fine, it's just that themes download to the wrong folder.
summerboard themes were being dumped here: /var/root/Library/Summerboard/Themes and they SHOULD be here: /var/mobile/Library/Summerboard/Themes
customize doesn't give me any sort of error, but it did freeze my phone once, which scared the crap out of me, so i'm staying away for now.
neither give me error messages and both load fine.

i think a fair amount of people are having problems with Customize. however, to get more things in there, go to Installer and then Install and then look for Themes (Customize). download some. then more things will show up in the images part of Customize.

Well, I have been playing around with my iPhone all day and love it, but I have a few questions:
1) I downloaded Customizer, but I can't find where to edit the AT&T logo. Also, I try to edit the "slide to unlock" text, but it won't change.
2) I tried downloading the NES Emulator, but where do I get the games for it?

If you download Make It Mine, you can change the ATT logo (carrier logo) to say what you want.
Google NES Roms.

And please, if anyone knows of any other editing apps or games that work great for the 1.1.3, please post them.
Also, I've seen people put images in the carrier names, how is that done?

If you jailbreak, can you un-jailbreak? Like if I jailbroke my soon-to-come iPhone, and then I didn't want it jailbroken, for example an update came out that I wanted, can you reverse the process without bricking it?

I used this jailbreak method and it is simple and although there are some programs (swaptunes and others) that no longer work, the majority of the games and programs I use all work fine. There are several programs that don't work right away but there are several fixes posted in these forums (most by TinMan) and those fixs are almost always simple to put in place and they work flawlessly.

i used the newest version of ijailbreak because it was basicly the same UI as Ziphone but it came out for mac before ziphone released a working version for mac... its a 1 touch jailbreak. It asks u if u want to unlock and jallbreak or just jailbreak. I did the jailbreak and it took about a minute. code scrolled down the screen and when it was done everything worked perfectly. EVEN with the 4.6 bootloader!

If I jailbreak my iPhone will it erase all of my current songs, ringtones, and movies that I have loaded? Will all of the 1.1.3 upgrades still work?
About restoring.... If I do jailbreak and then decide I want to go back to the way my phone is right now do I just do a restore with iTunes and that's it or will I have to reload all of my songs and movies all over again? Do I have to do some kind of backup so iTunes will know what my current settings are BEFORE I jailbreak?

1. Yes
2. Yes
3. When you restore, it will erase all of your songs, pics, movies, etc. You can always reload them back on. It will put your iPhone just the way it was before you hacked it.
4. When you hit restore in iTunes, it will ask if you want to backup your iPhone. It will save all of your YouTube faves, bookmarks (on homescreen and browser) and save all of your settings.

actually, jailbreaking won't erase anything, only restoring via iTunes will do that. and, if you have a backup from iTunes, which you should, when you restore to 1.1.3, it puts all that stuff back on. jailbreaking will not erase anything on your phone. and yes, all of the 1.1.3 upgrades will work once you're jailbroken.
and yes, if you want to just go back to a clean, unjailbroken 1.1.3., just restore via iTunes and you should be fine. i've done it twice now with no problems.
iTunes should back up your stuff automatically. i know i didn't set anything and mine backs up stuff automatically.
what i did was this: restore to a clean 1.1.3, load all my stuff back on from iTunes backup, then jailbreak.
good luck!

How do you restore to a clean v1.1.3 in iTunes? Do you use a Shift+Restore and select a 1.1.3 ipsw firmware file or do you click on the iTunes "Restore" button and do an online restore?
My worry is will the online "Restore" brick an unlocked, activated & jailbroken 1.1.3 phone?

i had an unlocked (i think, and by accident) and jailbroken 1.1.3 phone and i just clicked on "restore" in iTunes. went fine. even dumped back over all my contacts, music and pictures.
i then jailbroke again, restored back to 1.1.3, and jailbroke a 3rd time. so far, no problems.
