I'm a little bummed, I found an eBay seller with a bunch of Monster's iAirPlay car/airplane chargers for sale. This was a $50+ charger when it was new, so I was really excited to grab a couple for my wife and I at a nice discount for an upcoming overseas trip. I'd like to be able to watch a few movies without fear of landing in Europe with a dead phone, or it not even making it that far.

I was bummed though when they arrived and realized I hadn't checked to see if they were iPhone compatible. Being an older product, I get the 'this product not designed for the iPhone' message (just plugged into the phone, not even into power).

So my question is, does anyone know if this will work, or is it going to have cause a problem? I've read that some older iPod chargers can actually discharge the iPhone battery? Doesn't make any sense to me, any truth to this? Can anyone confirm whether or not this iAirPlay is iPhone friendly?

Thanks in advance for any help!

I would say I'm 90% sure that those chargers will work. I'm not sure about the product, but if it is just a charger (and not a something that is supposed to help you connect to a car stereo) it will work.

The only problem with iPod stuff working with iPhone is that weird static you will get when you put a cell phone next to a speaker.

I got one of these for my 5th generation iPod and use it for my iPhone now. The sound quality is respectable, but there is a good amount of static due to the signals being given and recieved by iPhone. It will charge perfectly though. I would imagine there would be minimal static with airplane mode and the static does heavily increase when recieving calls, texts, etc.
