what excactly does it do? what are the benifits from this? im kinda confused...also what is wifi and edge? im not very technolgy advanced and could really use some help.

UMMM do you have a Iphone???You may wanna google that stuff. If fairly simple to gather that info

Here's the Cliff's notes answers to your questions:

Jailbreaking unlocks the file system so third party applications can be used on the iPhone.

Wifi is highspeed (generally) wireless internet. Edge is AT&T's mobile internet. It's much slower than wifi. I can usually get about 3x faster than dialup over the Edge network.

so how does wifi work? and what comes with the iphone? i dont know what 3rd party applications mean. please explain. im sorry i just dont know that much about it and no i dont have a iphone i plan on getting one on monday.

Third party apps are just software programs and utilities. For example: the iPhone's native SMS app doesn't allow you to forward text messages, but there is a third party app you can download that allows the iPhone to do this.
