View Full Version : can't enable cookies

I was on my phone browsing the web and i went to everythingicafe and logged in. Then i pushed Log Out and a little system window popped up (like the ones you see in installer) and said "are you sure you want to log out?" I guess i didn't really think about it, so i pushed yes then a message came up that said something like "cookies have been disabled".

So with all cookies disabled, everytime i go to a site that i frequent (that usually always remembers me) i have to re-enter my username and password EVERY SINGLE TIME. For example, now when i'm on the actual YouTube website in Safari, I log in and then push favorites, and it throws me back to the Log In screen again. I'm sure you can imagine how frustrating this is.

So my question is, HOW CAN I RE-ENABLE COOKIES? I have already gone to Settings>>Safari and selected "accept cookies from visited" and then rebooted for it to take effect. I have done that several times and it hasn't worked. I even selected "ALWAYS" accept cookies and rebooted and that doesn't work either.

IF ANYONE KNOWS ANOTHER WAY TO FIX THIS, OR ANY WAY FOR THAT MATTER, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. Browsing the web with my phone is really irritating now.

I guess no one had a solution...

Anyway, I re-jailbroke and that took care of it.

WARNING: if you click LOGOUT on this site it will disable cookies on your iPhone. It will even disable cookies on your desktop.

Don't get me wrong, this is a great site. Just don't Logout :-)

That could explain why I'm suddenly not able to log into some of my favorite sites from my phone now (sites that require cookies). Anyone know how to enable cookies once they've been disabled?

try clearing your history, cookies, and cache and then going back to the site and logging in again. Click the remember me radial if there is one.
Also, this might be quicker:
Settings > Safari > Under the security section, the last listing is cookies. Mine says: Accept Cookies from visited >
If you tap it, you get the options to change your cookies setting.

YESSSS - that worked! Doh! Simple solution, too; sometimes we newbies just don't know where to start.
