Earlier today I dropped my iphone in the rain, it was raining moderatly and I didnt pick it up until about 20 minutes ago. It had water on it but I managed to clean it off. I turned it on really quckly to turn it off. I think very little water got in, if any. How long should I leave it off? It had a cover over it and a screen protector. It was faced up when I found it in the water next to my car.

That sucks. Take a quick search on the boards and you'll see you aren't alone. I think most people say about two days. Stick it in some rice, too.

Someone dropped their iPhone in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took long to jailbreak it
And I'll never have that warranty again
Oh, no!
I recall the puddle swirling 'round
Foaming like a wave
On the ground o'er my iPhone
The beads of water droplets on its screen
And the moisture playing havoc unbeknown
Mac Apple's phone is drowning all alone
All the sweet rainwater flowing down
Someone left their iPhone in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took long to jailbreak it
And I'll never have that warranty again
Oh, no!
There will be another call for me
For I will ring it
There will be another towel for me
Someone will bring it
I will sync the phone while it is warm
And never let you catch me drop another one
And after all the phones in my life
After all the phones in my life
You'll still be the one
I will take iPhone into my hands and I will use it
I will grin at Moto cellphone guys and I won't lose it
I will have the thing that I desire
And my ringtones flow like rivers through the sky
And after all the phones in my life
After all the phones in my life
I'll be emailing you
And wondering why
Mac Apple's phone is drying on its own
All the sweet rainwater flowing down
Someone dropped their iPhone in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took long to jailbreak it
And I'll never have that warranty again
Oh, no!
Oh, no
No, no
Oh no!!

Well I must have put it on my lap and when I got out of my car it fell. It was raining hard so I didn't think much about it, thinking it was just a rock or something, and then went inside. My friend git some sort of device to measure the ammount of water in it, and it was virtually nothing.
This post is from my iPhone

Glad to hear the phone is OK. You really got lucky if it was out in the rain for 20 min.
