Hi, all
Correct me if I am wrong, and forgive me if this topic has been covered. I searched but could not find the answer just guess....

I am with AT&T and have jailbroken 1.1.2 and considering 1.1.3 since google map seems to pinpoint the location better than find me by navizon and not to mention wiggling icons :laugh2:

anyway my question is:
official 1.1.3 upgrades modem firmware so that users with other carrier than AT&T cannot use 1.1.3 so new 1.1.3 jailbreak method upgrades the firmware without upgrading modem, thus you must go thru patching so that Map, Sync works after upgrading jailbroken 1.1.3. <----- Is this right?

So if I want to use Jailbroken 1.1.3 as an AT&T user or who doesn't need to unlock the phone, I need to upgrade with regular 1.1.3 to update Modem firmware, then downgrade to 1.1.1 with old firmware, ibrkr, oktoprep, upgrade to 1.1.2, then jailbroken 1.1.3. Is this right procedure to it?

I am only asking so that I can save time if there is a better way, because above method will take a while:frown:

Thanks in advance.

Yeah but upgrade to 1.1.3 and then downgrade. And use nates true jailbreak 1.1.3 process. You can go straight from 1.1.1 to 1.1.3, ive done it about 10 times on my phone. It takes about 20-25 min to complete, pretty easy process.

If you are on a jailbroken 1.12, just go into Installer and find 'Official 1.1.3 Upgrader' from Conceited Software. After it is done installing, you'll have a a jailbroken 1.13.

My question is does the official 1.1.3 upgrader from Cenceited Software upgrad modem firmware too? After that, I don't need extra step to do get Google map or syncing to work? that is my quesiton.

thanks for quick reply.

That i dont know, ill wait for my good buddy John to come and give the correct answer. But if you upgrade to 1.1.3 through itunes you wont have to worry about that.

No. It flashes the firmware, instead of completely updating it. The Google Maps Location feature will not work alone; you must first use LocateMe, then use the Google feature.

So if I want to use Jailbroken 1.1.3 as an AT&T user or who doesn't need to unlock the phone, I need to upgrade with Apple's regular 1.1.3 to complete upgrade including Modem firmware, then downgrade to 1.1.1 with old firmware, ibrkr, oktoprep, upgrade to 1.1.2, then jailbroken 1.1.3. Is this right procedure to it? <---- so this is the way? since I want to upgrade my modem firmware as well so that google map works.

Maybe I should wait for someone to release jailbroken 1.1.3 with update modem firmware?

Again, thanks for your quick reply.

No. Your iPhone is running firmware 1.1.2, jailbroken. All you have to do to update to 1.1.3 and jailbreak it is this:
1) Go into Installer.
2) Find 'Official 1.1.3 Upgrader' and Install it.
3) You are now on firmware 1.13, jailbroken.

The installation takes quite awhile. Mine took about 25 minutes. Just be patient.
