Strange strange problem; here's some backstory:
1.1.1 OOB iPhone, jailbroken and subsequently jailbroken to 1.1.3 using Nate True's method.
Here's the weird thing: since I've done so, I've reset network settings, and installed the so called "EDGE fix" found in the 1.1.3 Tweaks category in Installer.app. Now.. I do get data reception, I can look at DESCRIPTIONS of YouTube videos.. but when I try to play them, it complains that I don't have EDGE or Wi-Fi connection. I don't have Wi-Fi right now, but I'm receiving data.. I was under the impression that any data connection would be an EDGE connection.
Even stranger: this phone seems to load data over cell network MUCH faster than normal now... anyone else experienced this??
