Actually been there many times, there is a company there that has veneer and I go there to select the exact veneer for my designs for Gulfstream jets.
Also in Chicago.

The 35 bucks really lured me for these. As well as how they wrote that because they just took the plastic molds from sennheiser they could spend more money/time on the drivers and iphone capability functions.

Ok i received them today. Man are they good.
They are almost identical to my sennheiser cx 300 s in both sound quality and looks/fit.
THey have great ambient sound isolation.
Anyways. They have a very nice bassy sound. The mids and highs are clear and crisp but the headphones lean a little torward the bass.
The microphone has the same quality as the stock one. The button does the exact same thing too.
I love em. Definately worth more than the 35 buck asking price. Get em.
Wayy better than the skullcandy FMJs my cousin has. And those are the same as the iphone ones you guys are raving about.
Id say either get these or one of the Ultimate buds mashups on their site.

Hi, how does the UB3 wear when you put it on? For example, check out http://www.rivetnow.com/home/file/product/iproduct_id/109/product.html These headphones can be worn as "lanyard-style" (It goes around the back of your neck). Does the Ultimate Buds UB3 "wear" lanyard-style or does it just dangle like the stock iPhone/iPod earphones? Thanks!

I have a pair of the UB3 headphones. I like them a lot a well. only thing i noticed like Bilal mentioned was they do lean toward the bass side when playing music. Dont get me wrong i love bass in rock and hip/hop, rap music but i felt it was a little overpowering to a point where it damped the music. I set my equalizer to rock and now its perfect for my taste. Excellent headphones, especially for $35.

Nope, I'm not gonna try them because I read of a lot of bad reviews. I actually bought the Ultimate Bud UB3 today. They should arrive soon.
The Rivet is $20 at amazon but I'd rather add another $10 to get these UB3s instead. I've read more good than bad reviews for these UB3s. I've read that the Rivet headphones have poor quality wires.

I was looking at these too....
I have noticed that at Amazon, they are also trying to sell you the 'iPhone 3.5mm adapter'.... I realize the jack is recessed, but are they really necessary?

Not at all. These are specifically made for the iPhone, and they already come with a 2 foot extension cable.
They do require some "burn-in" time before you get their true sound. Unfortunately, their user guide doesn't tell you this.
Connect to a radio or your PC and run music through it for at least 3 hours before using them. They sound horrible right out of the box.

I just got my Ultimate Buds......
Sound quality is awful!
My $10 Skull Candy Ink'd blow them away.
THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO HIGHS..... VERY MUTED SOUND ONLY LOW AND MID SOUNDS.
The clicker and microphone work very well, unfortunately they are bout 4 on a scale of 1-10 sound quality.
I REALLY want some buds with the clicker and mic..... I'll try some skull candy next.
note:
I played music through them for a few hours to try to "burn them in" with no good results. Same sound.

Can you get a review out for them as well.Would these do well while jogging? I wonder if they would stay in the ears during all that jostling (gasping, falling to the ground, rolling around in pain).
For anyone buying headphones for more than $20.00, you need to do a little "burn-in" time on them before using.
Connect them to an audio source and let them run continuous at half volume for about 3-6 hours. Then try them out. If the sound is still crap after that, then I say return them.

I listen to mostly underground rap so my music is definately biased torward bass.
I did try the skullcandys again and they do better with highs but i like the ub3s better for bass.
Maybe you got a bad set. I really liked mine. Although i will probably replace with something else to get a variety in sound.

I got a pair of V-moda Vibe Duo's this weekend, and they sounded pretty good out of the box. lll let them burn in a few hours today and see if it gets any better. To me these sound about as good as my old Shure E3c.

And the second pair was just as good after a 3 hour burn in.

Hi Guys,
I thought I'd stop by and give you guys our perspective on the UB3 along with news about the coming UB5.
The UB3 is designed as a stock iPhone replacement that provides better fit and some noise isolation than what the stock earbuds give you. The number one complaint we hear is that the stock earbuds don't fit or are uncomfortable. Because the UB3 fits in the ear, those issues are generally resolved.
As far as sound goes, we went with a speaker element that produces what some call a "V-Shaped" EQ curve. This boosts the bass and highs a little and in turn may made the mids sound more muted. Some love this, some don't. If you listen to rap/rock/r&b, then this eq curve should suit you well.
We also recognize there is a huge gap in our products currently, jumping from $30 up to $150. So we've been working hard to fill that gap with the UB5, which will be in stock in a few weeks. We found what we are calling the 'holy grail' of earphone speakers that simply sounds amazing to us. We're using our tried and true trick of using an earphone mold that is already available and might just resemble some other earphones already on the market :) But of course what's inside is what matters, and we've used our 'holy grail' speaker along with a microphone with a built in wind screen. The UB5 will be priced very attractively (~$55-$65) and will complete directly with earphones in the ($100 - $150) range in terms of sound quality. We can simply make them cheaper by using existing molds and we pass the savings on. The UB5 will also feature a fabric cable, which after tests we've determined reduces microphonics.
As we get stock in, we'll be looking for you guys to do reviews. We'll send out 5 free pairs to the first people that contact us. Please post to this thread if you wish to review so everyone will know when the 5 spots have been claimed.

Got my UB5's today for review. Gonna beat 'em up for awhile plugged into my laptop before I really give them a good listen, but sounded nice initially. Construction seems of quality and uses the V-Moda casings as I suspected. Will be putting them to work this weekend, as I have far too much yard work to be done. Review to come!

Got mine yesterday! First impressions:
Construction seems solid. Only one set of flanges provided, but fit me well enough.
Sound isolation is very good. Earphones definitely seem based on the v-moda Vibe shell. Very attractive, and color is solid black. At the other end, the jack connector is slightly different than the Vibe's, and we'll have to see how the strain relief in the jack holds up.
Been listing to a broad variety of music for several hours (everything from soundtracks, rock, classical, blues, folk, hip-hop).
Sound quality is definitely a step up from the stock headphones! Highs are much clearer and more nuanced. I'm finding layers in the mid-and high-end that I don't usually hear. Vocals are very crisp.
At first, I was going to describe the bass levels as 'not very punchy'. But I realized that it was really just that the bass is delivered very 'clear'. Even on some hip-hop tracks, the bass is pretty clean and not muddled. I would almost describe it as a pretty tight frequency response To me, this is good, as I don't like overbearing bass. Those whose tastes are more hip-hop might prefer some more thump. I'll also need to see how these headphones sound with movies.
Haven't testing the mic quality to asses the value of the integrated windscreen. The hidden button on the mic is ever so slightly less responsive than the stock phone, but I got used to it very quickly.
So overal, my first impression is very favorable. For the recommended price, they seem like a they will be a great value. I'll keep putting them through the paces and update with more info soon.

Yep, 3 sets of flanges are provided. Sometimes these get "stuck" in the bottom of the box and people don't realize they are in there. If for some reason you didn't get them, please let us know and we'll send some out.
We've also recently been experimenting with the iPhone EQ settings. In the past, we've told people not to use it as it can easily cause distortion, but the UB5 seems to handle the bass boost EQ setting very well and stays clean. We expect this has to do with the slightly lower sensitivity of the UB5 drivers, but whatever the reason, it's a nice benefit for those that want even more of a bass punch. Give it a shot.
Thanks

Just got the UB5s today. Really nice so far. The bass is MUCH better than the UB3s. Not muddy at all.
Ill have to listen more to really get a feel for them. I love the build, vmoda style and the jack seems tougher.
The mic is like the stock iphone one, very thin and unobtrusive.
And the EQ seems to work actually pretty good with this headset. Boosting bass doesn't distort the sound.
